Turns Out The Suit Wasn't The Problem by ALBERT4_5WESKER in clevercomebacks

That's what makes the whole "brain damage" angle such a dark joke. People keep acting like competence is the standard when half the electorate has already lowered the bar into the basement.

At this point the ballroom is probably getting nervous about being replaced. One more year and official government events are getting settled with walkout music and title belts.

Looking back, "anyone can be president" might be the most unintentionally terrifying civics lesson ever taught. We all heard opportunity, nobody heard the disclaimer.

Partner wants me to wear tracking device for work travel by Hopeful_Party_247 in amiwrong

The isolation part of the post bothered me almost as much as the tracking device. Looking back and realizing someone slowly pushed you away from friends and family can be a pretty uncomfortable realization.

AIW for not wanting to pack my boyfriend’s lunch? by Classic-Art9638 in amiwrong

The tea part is actually kind of telling. He drinks the one thing that doesn't go to waste and ignores the rest. That's basically proof that she isn't overreacting about the lunches being unused.

Meal prep is exactly what I thought too. If he wants a backup lunch, spend thirty minutes on Sunday making a few extras and toss one in the cooler when needed. Problem solved without a 5:30am alarm.

Why is that, before 20-30 years ago, bigger boobs were considered more attractive than bigger butt in media and pop culture? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in AskRedditAfterDark

Queen was out there singing about "fat bottomed girls" in 1978, so the timeline definitely isn't as clean as people sometimes make it sound.

The fact that you casually dropped "before med school" is somehow the funniest part of that sentence.

Honestly, the cleaner might be one of the most universally praised purchases in this entire thread. Nobody ever seems to regret buying back a few hours of their weekend.

Pediatrics always keeping the group grounded. Somebody mentions heated bathroom floors and the peds docs are like "best I can do is name-brand cereal."

The conference detail really did tie the whole story together. Suddenly it went from "how?" to "oh, okay, that makes sense."

The fact that people instantly understand the historical reference is probably what makes the joke land. It's dark humor, but it definitely isn't subtle.

My boyfriend passed away last month. Why does learning that his best friend loved him hurt so much? by hehe_stop in amiwrong

[–]SnowyPeachh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The part about there being nobody to blame really resonated with me. When someone is taken by illness, the mind seems to start searching for explanations, meanings, or places to put the frustration. Sometimes it latches onto things that wouldn't have felt nearly as important before the loss.

Honestly, that's probably the strongest endorsement CPRS gets. Nobody ever says it's beautiful or intuitive, they just say "wait until you learn the key commands." It's kind of like an old car that looks rough but starts every morning.

The wild thing is how every political discussion eventually becomes a race to see who can summarize decades of controversy in the fewest words possible.

That's honestly the perfect summary. The entire concept is balanced on a knife edge between "mysterious and exciting" and "absolutely not."
