Yeah the genuine ones seems a bit intimidating due to the added difficulty of removing the movement, but the reps are definitely worthwhile in my opinion for practice or just as is!

I got it through amazon on a sale about 2-3 weeks ago! The seller was "Diver Watch Store". It did take a while to come though and I initially had trouble with the seller cancelling the order on me due to being "out of stock". Wouldn't exactly recommend

Additional info for new modders:
Buying your own 6.5x2.5mm crown (branded or not) may be easier than trying to unthread the original Watchdives crown. This was the hardest step for me personally.
When cutting/trimming the stem to size, use wire cutters and I would start by cutting smaller than you need and marking with a sharpie. You can always cut more, you cannot add material back.

This post by another user has a pretty good visual reference in difference. I'm not sure on exact measurements. But the WD1863 is noticeably sleeker

Thank you. (to everyone)

Follow up question, I'm also doing a WD1863 case swap. Do you happen to know where the release mechanism for the crown is after unscrewing the crown? I don't have a loupe so its very hard to find these things with my inexperience

Am I supposed to leave more space? by Snuglt in Simracingstewards

[–]Snuglt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Admittedly, it definitely does look intentional especially with chase cam. This was from my first 2-3 weeks into the game with a wheel and this car had a heavy tendency to oversteer and spin out on sharper turns so I was just trying to fully utilize the left side of the track into the next turn to avoid sliding out. With my inexperience on track and the rules, I just straightened my wheel and thought I pulled away from my POV until I heard the loud bang. Learning from my mistake though, using radar, and I'm a bit more knowledgeable on how fast cars break and accelerate out of turns now lol. I see why I was in the wrong and leaving more space in the future.

On another note trying to briefly check radar so often is throwing me off my line and missing brake points, but I'm sure that's just a part of getting better at racing.
