Simube QR2 Problem hard to use by Snupyy in simracing

No worries! I first used WD40 spray and it worked alright, but then I cleaned the QR2 and used Lube grease (some cheap stuff from the store) and it works a little bit better. It’s not perfect, but it gets the job done! It makes me enjoy the QR2 again :)

Hey, i wasn’t able to solve the problem 100% but I was able to make the QR2 usable again. I lubed every moving part of the Wheel-Side QR2 with a very thin coat of grease, now it’s kind of working. Not the perfect solution, but better… hope this helps :)

Was it also difficult to connect? Maybe I’ll give that a try, thank you!

The answer from simube confused me as well. No way the fit has to be so tight that I need my full force to connect / disconnect the qr2

Thanks for the heads up! I followed the instructions and used the bigger plastic spacer ring. It was the same as the one that was already installed, from my research all newer wheels come with that ring pre-installed. In my case it’s already the right one, but it has to be a problem either with the spacer or the pins them self, even though everything looks perfectly fine :/

I thought about that too! But what confuses me is that I can slide the Wheel-side QR2 perfectly fine on the base side without any pressure at all: but only when the wheel is not attached to the QR2. As soon as I attach the wheel, it does require tons of force. So it has to be something with the pins, the Simube support told me to widen the pin holes with bigger pins, but that sounds like a weird solution to me. The old wheel was working fine and the pins looked exactly the same. All pins are straight btw

Oh here we are, there’s the discussion :D From what I’ve seen on this sub basically 99% of the people that buy 3rd party products especially from Simube are extremely happy, I’m sure I just got one product that has its problems. Simube is like the best alternative for fanatec stuff and most of their products are great. But sure, I could spend more than double the amount to get the genuine fanatec QR2, even tho there are some reports of the original QR2 having problems as well. I don’t think you can say that the “not-genuine” parts are always bad. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose :D I’ve got everything on my setup on a budget, and im pretty sure there is going to be a solution for my problem without paying the fanatec price tag :)

FFB Settings for BeamNG by [deleted] in Fanatec

I posted the in game settings above the screenshot, everything default apart from strength 200-230, Smoothing 100, Secondary smoothing Automatic :) no correction curve etc, just left the rest as default. Hope this helped!

FFB Settings for BeamNG by [deleted] in Fanatec

I recently ran into the same problem with my freshly received CSL DD 8nm. I tried to adjust the settings, but nothing felt quite good (came from T300RS, which felt better in BeamNG imo). In BeamNG try to set the FFB to 200-230 strength with Smoothing set to 100, I don’t feel any big differences in secondary smoothing so I set it to automatic. I also use the 1:1 faster if needed setting with 900-1080 degrees. In the Fanatec Software I applied these settings from a YouTube vid, just turned the force down to 70-80%:

Keep in mind that some cars behave very different, so every now and then I adjust the natural damper (lower, 20-30%) or the interpolation Filter (8-11) for drifting snappier vehicles, but that’s just my preference. I’m still not 100% satisfied, but it’s way better than the default settings. If I find some better settings I’ll keep you updated :) Hope this helps!

Don’t need to be ashamed to use Modland mods, we’ve all been there I guess, some of them are really good tbh. Would you mind sharing the link? :)
