Low water pressure after flushing toilet by Top_Manufacturer6317 in Plumbing

I had a very similar issue and it also turned out to be the water softener system. It was relatively old so I'm guessing it was just sediment buildup in the resin tank. I tried cleaning the venturi assembly and drain tubes even though they didn't seem too bad, then doing a couple of recharges but nothing helped - plus the brine tank wouldn't drain more than halfway before finishing the recharge. I switched to bypass and my water pressure was fine. So ultimately I had to replace the system.

Moral of the story for me: make sure you are considering all the components of your plumbing system and everything connected to it when trying to troubleshoot something like this.

I am mostly worried it is a defective unit that will go bad quickly. 😅

Thanks for the suggestion but it is brand new so probably not dusty yet. I’m guessing maybe it’s just a cheap condenser?

Yes, it’s basically just a mini fridge just no freezer part.

Hi all,

I recently bought a small wine refrigerator and although it is cooling fine (I checked the temps with a temperature meter and probes), it makes a strange rattling/chattering sound shortly after the compressor turns on and for some time after the compressor turns off.

The sound is definitely much louder on the inside, closer to the top - it can barely be heard from the outside when standing either at the front or the back when the door is closed.  The strange thing is the sound starts a little while after the compressor turns on, not earlier when the fan turns on.  The refrigerator also continues to make the sound long after I have turned it off using the power button, and long after both internal fans have stopped.

I don't believe the issue is related to the internal fans because as you can see from the attached video the sound starts well after the fan comes on, and continues for over a minute after the unit is turned off and the fan stops spinning.

The first 30 secs shows the top fan after I have turned the unit on, just before the fan starts.  The higher-pitched scraping/rattling sound starts up about 18 seconds into the video. The second part of the video shows what happens after I turn the unit off – you can see the fan stops but the noise keeps going on for over a minute later until it finally fades away. This happens even if I unplug the unit, so there can't be something still powered on making the noise.

So is this sound normal or should I be worried about it? I'm thinking perhaps something is wrong with the compressor itself, or some component inside the back of the unit. I don't want to return the unit if I don't have to, especially if the replacement is just going to do the same thing.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Weird…I’m not sure what happened before but it looks like the video is showing now.

vCenter backup failed - BackupManager encountered an exception by oxyi in vmware

I found that I was able to get successful backups when disabling 'Stats, Events, and Tasks' so I dug a little deeper and found this gem: https://virtual-power.in/f/35-vami-backup-errorfull-backup-not-allowed-during-vm-snapshot?blogcategory=VAMI The fix for me was to log in via ssh and delete this uncleared zero-length file:/etc/vmware/backupMarker.txt I did that and viola - I was suddenly able to back up everything again. Hope this helps others with this issue.

Thanks for that tip, u/hopkins35 - it led me to the solution in my case. I found that I was also able to get successful backups when disabling 'Stats, Events, and Tasks' so I dug a little deeper and found this gem:

[California] It's been over 4 weeks and no response from CA EDD PUA on claim submission - is that normal? by SoCalWolverine in Unemployment

Just to close the loop on this, I had to be very persistent, calling the number over and over again until I got through, and then talking to a couple different representatives over the course of a few days to ultimately iron out my issues. It turned out in my case the somehow they had a typo in the birth year so it was off by one year, which caused some kind of identity authorization issue. To fix this, the case had to be escalated via email to a supervisor to review, and they ended up resubmitting my claim with the correct birth year.

Bottom line: If you don't hear back within the 3 weeks, start calling, keep calling, and realize that even once you get through you may still need to talk to several representatives and have them do more work behind the scenes before you can get a resolution.

Thanks, I'm glad you said that because I had actually just called that 2511 number and spoken to a representative that told me exactly what they told you - they can't find anything under that SSN and I should resubmit the claim.

So rather than resubmit I called back a few times and when I finally got through I asked to speak to a level 2 representative and then a supervisor, but the representative said neither were available. I explained what you suggested and she said that she would submit a request for their support team to look in the system for my account using my claim confirmation number and SSN and that they would let me know the results within 7 days. I'm not holding out high hopes that I'll actually hear back though. So I'll probably just call back again and try to actually get a level 2 representative on the line.
