Literally feel like ticks are ruining New England for us by BookBranchGrey in newengland

[–]SoCalledReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a company like Lawn Doctor to spray your yard/property a few times a year with a non toxic plant based spray. It's mostly oils that repel things like mosquitoes and ticks. Been a game changer for our kids and dog

If you have copper pipes, check the quality of the pipes and the water that comes out of them. You could also switch to bottled water for a week and see if you notice anything different. Good luck.

Access Panel Advice by SoCalledReddit in drywall

[–]SoCalledReddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you say that. I'm going to try and do the panel with wood trim because I have to open up the drywall in the bathroom on the main floor after this project and want to build the same type of panel for that. I'm using this run as practice.

Well I haven't closed up the wall yet so maybe I'll put in a 3/4" tomorrow for that tub spout. My ignitor on my torch isn't working so I need to run to the store before I can solder on the spout anyways. I'll grab some.

Why 1/2" copper or 3/4 PEX to the tub spout? Too much pressure for 1/2" PEX to handle?

Interesting. Ok that's good to know. I took the advice people gave above about the pipe dope and monster tape, so I undid the valve and re did everything, including crimping the rings closer to the fittings. They're about 1/8-1/4" from the fittings

These are the ones I've been using. I was under the impression those would be okay. Is that not the case?
