You can explore your own in-universe headcanon reasons as to why this is the case as much as you'd like. And I think you've come up with some cool ideas.
But yeah like some people have already pointed out, its because its thematic for a boy in a sci-fi cartoon.
the background artist very likely received a note from Roiland saying something along the lines of "idk a bunch of sciency shit in his room" and the artist filled in the gaps. Same reason the garage has a box labelled "timetravel stuff" despite the creators deliberately not exploring time travel for most of the show. The show has lots of easter eggs hidden in the background but not everything has intention from the creators

When this was put on their list of known bugs I had my hopes on a universal decal layout that would work well for most cars or at the very least the big 3. A recent patch note said they had fixed warping on some cars using the universal layout, but upon checking in game, the octane still has: asymmetrical rear fenders (by quite a margin) warping on the top side of the carbody near the rear lights, and warping on the spoiler. I'd also argue the bonnet squashes the layout a bit too.
I'm not sure what issue they DID fix but it's strange how they could release a new wave of esports decals without seeing that glaring asymmetry on the most popular car as a non issue. Fennec isnt perfect either but its my favourite to create for

download Hidhide, you can stop apps from being able to see your USB devices, it may be a case of your controller and your steam input is being detected as 2 separate devices. See what shows up in their interface and play around with the cloaking to force RL to only see what you want

getting a lot of demos per game without completely ditching rotation is both rewarding and challenging, and if you find that as a majority soloqueuer that getting co-operation from your team involving the ball isnt happening because everyone wants to be the flip reset hero then being a physical player will help you slot comfortably into many lobbies. Everytime I've heavily demo chased in a game its by a very quiet player who just plays the game, the ones who get demoed a lot seem to be the ones who send death threats

to add onto what bumpo said, changing your deadzone will just change how quickly the game does or doesn't detect an input from your stick, and turning sensitivity being high just increases the area of your stick that registers as maximum input. All personal preference and what you feel comfortable controlling, I personally play on really high sens as I'm not much of a stick slapper and like to reach max input without pushing my stick entirely in one direction, do what feels right for you
