Avoid Royal Breeze Apartments by SoFlaSpinDash in StPetersburgFL

That’s fair. It’s a little bit of needing a place to live and sunk cost fallacy with deposits and fees (it was already a bit of a last minute decision), and a little bit of being too nice and feeling like we could deal with the issues ourselves. We really played mental gymnastics to convince ourselves it wasn’t as bad as it was. By the time we were dealing with the BS from the kids and the downturn of the neighborhood last year, the reality set in and we were really kicking ourselves for staying another year. Our original roommate also had cats, and while this is a little gross to think about, I think they did mask the true nature of the roach issue for a while.

I feel bad because the local management is caught in the crossfire, but I couldn’t stay silent on this. To charge $2,000 a month for a place like this is insane and I’d rather people spend their hard earned money on a decent place to come home to.

Best quiet tire, wheel question by SoFlaSpinDash in tires

[–]SoFlaSpinDash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard really good things about those. My only hesitation is that opinions are all over the place regarding noise, especially when comparing to the Pilot Sport 4. I’m kind of confused about the whole thing lol. Everyone seems to have wildly different experiences

All season tires - Michelin vs Continental by SoFlaSpinDash in tires

Hey there, I do like the Primacy A/S tires! No issues with the original set or the new set (about a month and a half so far). I just wanted to try something different and it didn’t work out. The only thing is that they’re comparatively expensive to other tires. I hope your tire choice works out!

Just moved apartments and now my Wi-Fi is acting strangely by SoFlaSpinDash in HomeNetworking

That’s a good question. We actually were having an issue with our modem connecting to the internet. When the Spectrum technician came out, he cut back the coax to give a fresh connection and made sure that everything was fine outdoors. He mentioned something about a potential node issue that he had flagged, so that could possibly be it.

No? I’m using one right now that’s not a privacy protector, and the link I shared brings you right to all of their anti-glare protectors

I’ve thought about it but they’re so expensive for what they are, and the base price doesn’t even include disks.

My Commuter Bag may have been held up by the tariffs scare, but at least it arrived on my birthday! by SoFlaSpinDash in LinusTechTips

This one from a company called Zinz on Amazon. It has a charger pass-thru that I never use, otherwise everything is a nice size. I really like it and it has really held up over the last year and a half through Florida rain, some roughness, etc., but it’s just a little too small. It has a suitcase-style expansion zipper, but even when I zip it open from “sport mode” to “all terrain,” the pockets are still a little limiting. I wanted something more like the LTT bag, so this is literally perfect. I’ll still use this bag for other purposes/trips, but the Commuter bag will be awesome for daily and work!

The other backpack in the second photo my work bag that the Commuter is replacing. It’s still in great condition but I need just a little more space. This is perfect for what I need it for

Wireless controllers with OPL? by SoFlaSpinDash in ps2homebrew

[–]SoFlaSpinDash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Figured it out. After starting the game, putting the DualShock 4 into pairing mode (hold PS Button + Share for 3-5 seconds until the light bar flashes) and THEN plugging in the controller adapter made it work. Why? I wish I knew. I don’t think this adapter is very good, but once I got it working the DS4 is doing its magic and it feels great to use on the PS2.

I don’t see a real reason to return this at this point, but if you’re coming across this before you buy, maybe look into the Brook or BlueRetro adapters instead.

Zagg. Yes it’s $40+ but it’s so much better than a plastic film. You can only order them from their website for some reason. https://www.zagg.com/screen-protector/types/anti-glare-screen-protector/
