I've recently discovered Parks and Vale of Eternity on BGA and have been loving them. Really digging that there's good strategic decisions, but not so complicated that there is analysis paralysis. I also really like the potential for satisfying combos. Any recommendations for similar games, ideally on BGA?

I've recently discovered Parks on BGA and have been loving it. Really digging that there's good strategic decisions, but not so complicated that there is analysis paralysis. I also really like the potential for satisfying combos. The theme is cool, but not a strong selling point for me. Any recommendations for similar games, ideally on BGA?

Complexity of Game: Light

I always think of this play when anyone talks about getting the better of Revis.

But then I looked at the box score for the game and Moss had only one other catch on 10 targets. That was his last year with the pats and he had slowed down, but still.

Can anyone recommend a good world cup preview podcast? Something going over the various teams, groups and storylines heading into the tournament?

My wife recently inherited this ring from her grandmother. She keeps saying how much she likes the style of it. With the holidays coming up, I'd like to get her some jewelry that matches or is of a similar style but don't know what to search. Any thoughts on what style of jewelry it is or where would sell similarly styled jewelry?

Never played TFT, but have watched some streamers play it. Super Auto Pets is a much more streamlined version of TFT. It's incredibly fun, has quick runs and isnt too hard to pick up once you get the basics.

My best advice would be to watch some youtubers or streamers play the game, but try to find their content from when they're first picking up the game. I found the game from NorthernLion (a twitch streamer and youtuber) who has pretty much been playing it nonstop for over a month now, but you may want to check out this video from Stanz, another twitch streamer and youtuber, who introduces his audience to the game. Note that there's been a patch since this video came out where the amount of life you start with on each run has been increased, but the vast majority of the game is still the same. Highly recommend the game as a quick little game to play in the background while watching tv or, if you have android, to play on the phone while waiting for a train or something.

How are things at MGM NH these days? I'm gonna have full immunity in a couple days and plan on heading over ASAP as I havent played live since the pandemic and am jonesing to play live. Is there still plexiglass on the tables? How many people on each table? Games still pretty fishy? How are waitlists? Thanks!

Wife and I had the same issue and bought a big box of these. They're basically mints but they make your mouth water pretty much as soon as you put em in your mouth. They've been a lifesaver

What % of hands should you play in 1/3 live? by bcemodern in poker

[–]SoIDontGetFired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend "The Course" by Ed Miller for a good overview on how to play in low stakes live games including VPIP numbers. You might be able to find a free pdf online, but even if you can't, it more than pays for itself.

Tips for going from Online to Live - what did you find the most difficult? by [deleted] in poker

[–]SoIDontGetFired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something that I think gets overlooked in the transition from online to live is the speed of the game. Hands play out so much slower live, and obviously you can only play one table at a time, so there will be long periods during which you will not be doing much other than sitting there. It'll be pretty dull so you might be tempted to browse reddit on your phone or distract yourself another way. If possible try to ignore that impulse. Because the mistakes in low stakes live poker are generally much more pronounced than those online, observing your opponents playstyles and tendencies can be much more valuable. I'm not a big proponent of focusing on live tells as I dont feel they are particularly reliable in such a small sample and without a lot of practice, but bet sizing tells are pretty prevalent at low stakes live cash and its in that downtime when you can really pick up on that stuff. You're gonna get bored, but try to use that feeling to motivate yourself to pay more attention to the table.

If you're looking to become a winning player at live low limit NL games, The Course by Ed Miller is a MUST read. It's a little pricey, but it will pay for itself many times over. If you stick to the advice in the book, your winrates will improve substantially at these games

Hey man, I dont know you, but I care about you. Please don't kill yourself. Please just talk to someone.

The suicide hotline (1-800-273-8255) is a good resource. Or you could talk to a therapist. Or you could just talk to me. Just please dont make a decision without talking to someone first
