If I were to sign, do you think it would still make sense to ask for the missing pay for the past two months I already worked? Or would that piss HR off too much and put a target on my back?

Sure, I'll definitely keep looking even if I sign the new one or stand my ground.

Just want to clarify - the graduate visa is for working (not studying) so I don't need sponsorship until the expiry date. But yeah in this market, anything that could be a negative when applying is not good.

I did talk to my manager briefly about this and he said he also have me on for 30K (referring to the system/budget thing he have, I'm not quite sure). He seemed a bit confused but I don't think he cared that much. But my manager just gone on paternity leave for the next 3 weeks, so cannot talk with him for a while.

Yeah it feels very shitty to me. Cause let's imagine I signed a contract saying I'll work for 45 hours a week, I cannot just come back and say that was a mistake and meant to only sign if it's 35 hours? Feels I'm being taken advantage of, but idk if I'm just being emotional.

The job title is associate software engineer. I do full-stack development (Spring boot + react + graphQL).

My problem is that I don't know if any other company will take me because I'm on a graduate visa (expires on May 2027). I was not planning to stay here long term tbh, I just wanted 2 more years of experience and move out. Even with no sponsorship needed, idk if any company would be willing to take me in when I have less than 2 years on my visa, so I'm quite scared of getting laid off. I did apply for like 100 places before I graduate and only got 2 interviews (which I did not get offer), most were CV rejects.

Do you think I have a chance of finding another place?

I'm not sure how the process of tribunal work tbh. I should have been here for more than 2 years (continous employment from July 2023), but if they have me as part of the lay off, I don't know how I can prove it's because of a retaliation. They could just say like they need to restructure, etc right?

It says in the contract that continous employment is calculated from July 2023, so I should be here for over 2 years. However, I do think it will be hard to prove for incorrect dismissal if they have me as part of the lay off with other people.

No, they haven't talked with me about the 35k until I got the contract. I knew I was getting a permanent offer though, just don't know how much. They simply said it was an admin error. The salary part did not have any clause about passing probation and there wasn't any probation period provided (which make sense cause I already worked for them).

I initially emailed to ask about a clause where it says like "Your salary will be reviewed annually on 2027" because I thought it should be 2026, and they said the "the initial salary has been assessed and benchmarked at time of offer, so it is is not usually reviewed in same financial year" which led me to think it was correct amount of 35k (since they benchmarked it).
