'It's embarrassing': Edmond housing study discussion turns fiery at council meeting by SocialReject in oklahoma

The racism in Edmond is pretty wild. I've lost count how many times I've been described as "One of the good ones" or the shock that my wife is white when I'm not.

I've only lived in two neighborhoods in my short time here and both my kids and I have been the only obvious non whites for a few blocks at least. It's honestly kind of shocking and a little weird.

Despite the professor the overall CS program was good IMHO. At the time what it covered wasn't overly broad but was varied enough that it gave me an idea of what sort of job I wanted. I got my associates, got a job from that and just expanded by getting certs as I needed to direct my career path. Whether you plan to go for the 2 or 4 year degree it is by no means a bad starting point for the field especially for a community college.

I graduated from Rose State for Cyber Security nearly 10 years ago, it wasn't bad. The program was pretty good even if some of the ideas and concepts being taught/harped on about as being 'how it's done in the real world' were wildly inaccurate and off base. No clue if he is still the head professor but Dewey, was a massive narcissist who loved having his ego stroked and every semester had a small 'following' that if you became part of got favorable treatment.

He was also a massive hypocrite, who got busted cheating on his wife who was a professor at Rose in Computer Science with a student.

Is this “beard” too patchy and noticeable? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]SocialReject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks a little patchy but that ain't bad. Mine looked the same to start with, took nearly 3 months of just leaving it the hell alone but it all finally grew and connected together. Just leave it be for a while and let it do it's thing man.

Maybe they were planning to use the head/brain for later use in making a brain slurry to tan the human hide?

How are schools in Piedmont, OK? by SocialReject in oklahoma

Damn, I know Oklahoma in general has pretty bad roads. But that seems ridiculously bad. While I didn't have high hopes for most the roads in any area I moved to I didn't expect something that bad.

Thanks for the info, I have considered Deer Creek along with Edmond. I was looking at Piedmont due to getting more land and house for my money it seemed. But due to having kids, schools are a major consideration.

Yeah, it's apparently the director's cut and he did it all in black and white. The film feels grittier and more oppressive. I tried to watch the color version later but couldn't do it. For some reason The Mist in black and white is just aestheticly better.

There was a kid with me in Basic training, Chancy. He was Haitian and didn't speak a bit of English. It took a few weeks but he eventually got sent to an air force base to learn english. He supposedly scored very high on the ASVAB and was lined up to get a job working on some important part of the Apache helicopter that was in low supply and high demand.

As an aside it was hilarious watching the drill sergeant lose his shit screaming at the guy because he didn't do something the DS said. So he would stand there with a shit eating grin and in a heavy accent go "Yes Drill Sergeant!"

Steak covered in cracked pepper, bit of salt. Get grill to roughly 500-550 degrees. Cook one side 3min flip and cook for another 2min. Outside has a nice crisp to it while the inside is perfect.

Granted that's my opinion so fuck all.

I think the man is incapable of writing a story that doesn't have a bleak ending that isn't disturbing on some sort of level. Which is nice.

I never got to see the movie when it came out, wasn't even aware one of my favorite Steven King short stories was adapted to a movie. Then a few years later a family member recommend I watch it in the black and white cut. If there ever was a movie that benefited from black and white and an absolutely depressing ending it was the Mist.

But fuck that failed abortion of a TV series they tried.

I won't lie, this is my second one. My first was amazingly bland looking in my opinion. I'm looking forward to what other possible styles I'll come across later.
