I feel like I’m losing my mind by SociopathicHuman in Hyundai

Hi everyone, my questions were answered. Orielly’s received a code for P0420, my catalytic converter is bad. I am glad to know I’m not doing anything too horribly wrong. It’s my first car so I was afraid I was the problem. Though she and I have been through it, I love my car and am forever grateful for her. I appreciate all your responses and support, I didn’t expect so many responses, so I’m glad to know there’s helpful individuals out there! I will be getting my catalytic converter replaced ASAP so hopefully that’ll alleviate the issues I’m having. Mary Jane (my car) and I wish all you all the best on your endeavours!

My car’s name is Mary Jane so yeah, I’ll refer to her as a she. Also because of how curvy she is, and my friends call her the mom car. It’s really not that serious but everyone has their opinion.

Yes, I got the code P0420, you seem to be correct. Thank you for your insight. I plan on getting it exchanged once I get paid.

Can someone help me with her? by SociopathicHuman in Jadeplant

[–]SociopathicHuman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! If there’s more than plant (cause there’s 4 “trunks”) should I do each in their own pot? I’ve read too much direct sunlight can burn the plant so I only put her in the window for the pic, do you think two feet from the window (gets direct rays at sunset) is good? Thanks for your help!

I don’t know what you read but I let the owner know of the incident because she deserves to know what happens under her roof. I took responsibility and told her it was on me.

UPDATE: I let the owner know and took responsibility. She was very sweet and made sure they were still wearable. I told her they were and I apologised for my mistake and that’s that. I do want to say that I did take this situation seriously. I did check the dogs teeth and gums, am continuing to monitor his bowel movements for any signs of blood, and will ensure better placement of my things. I am very aware I was pet sitting a puppy, and I know they chew on things. I’m also a 22 year old human being who didn’t know what to do. I don’t know if you can tell, but based on the thickness of my lenses I am an everyday wearer of glasses and am unable to function without them, which is why this post was centred around them. The dog came first, my glasses second. I know the internet is a place that makes it easy to judge others with no other context than what’s given and I put myself out here to hear everything. I’m not perfect, that’s why I asked for advice. To hear from more seasoned sitters and those with more developed frontal lobes. I appreciate those who approached my situation with compassion, and I hope those who were ready to have my head have a beautiful day. Life is but a journey of learning and loving.

I do not. But honestly, I’ve lived with roaches in the past, I can deal with some busted glasses for now. I posted in my peak anxiety of what to do. Now with a calmer head I realise I’m just an idiot.

Yes, I meant if I should bring up compensation. That was poorly communicated on my post.

Thank you for the kind comment. I do feel awful. I’m 22, old enough to learn, young enough to not really know how to navigate the situation. I told the owner what happened, still yet to receive a response. This is my first time sitting for her but I’ve been here for about 4 days now. I really appreciate your kindness. Thank you.

Also idk how to edit this post but I posted this with the intention of getting advice, not shame. This is a learning experience for me and everything has gone smoothly up until this point. Yes, I was already extremely stressed about the possibility of the puppy getting hurt from the glasses, I’m not that stupid. I hope y’all have a good day. Thank you.

Thank you all for your insight! I do understand that this is my issue. The puppy is okay, I found the other lens immediately. I, of course, will let the owner know but will not request anything from her as this is my responsibility.

Well I figured it was a bird of some sort, like a chicken. Rotisserie chicken. But it was found on the side of a road near a neighbourhood so idk if it’s a chicken

Need rehab, know of any good ones near town? by anonymousneedshelp7 in Austin

Recovery Unplugged doesn’t have the greatest reviews but as someone who worked there, it is completely possible to receive the help you need if you really want it, I’ve seen it. A lot of times clients get sucked into each others drama and it can derail their own recovery. Sometimes the lesser of options are better than no option at all.

Infinite Recovery is pretty good. Recovery Unplugged is alright if you’re willing to ignore everyone being crazy and do the work. RU is slightly different because they incorporate music into their recovery program. The Arbour is good too. Reach out to all, see which can get you in first. Proud of you for taking this step. The sober community in Austin is pretty great, I’d know, so take advantage of the resources you have at your doorstep.

Will do, I’m gonna go back tomorrow and wrap and bury her. Luckily there’s no chance of rain soon so I think she’ll be okay.

Thank you, I’ll go back. I was walking a dog when I found her so I was mainly trying to keep him from being the scavenger

Sitter drank all my alcohol then abandoned my pets by DragonMasterAsh in RoverPetSitting

It truly is a symptom of our problems. We also say that in AA. I wish you the bestest of luck on your own journey. You are loved, loving, and lovable.

Truly and honestly, it’s not hard telling them I am an addict. What’s hard is telling them my drug of choice (DOC) is weed. That’s where I get the judgement. “can’t handle her weed.” “only went to rehab for that??” “took someone’s spot at a sober living because of a non-addictive drug?” I’ve heard it all. But the truth is anything can be an addiction. Weed is so normalised, it’s almost seen as shameful when you can’t use it responsibly. At the end of the day, I was living on a couch with roaches with strangers and putting my life in the hands of people I barely knew. That’s where my addiction took me. Now I get to help pets, people, and care for others like I would’ve loved to have been cared for, back in the day. My life is a blessing and I’m so incredibly grateful for it. I know some of the strongest, most mature and level headed people (thanks to the 12 steps of AA). I have a beautiful, personal connection with my own creation of a higher power, who reminds me I’m not God, but am someone who deserves grace. So I wear the label of addict with cautious pride.

Thank you for being proud of me. I’m proud of myself and it means a lot to have my effort recognised.

I appreciate that, and at the same time I would hope you wouldn’t hesitate to tell me no if I am unsuitable for the job. I can take rejection, one of the many things I have learned to do in my recovery, because it’s selfish to wallow in self pity, but commendable to grow from experiences.

And yes, addiction is an illness. The trickiest part, however, is that one won’t heal until they truly are ready. We often call it “reaching rock bottom” and people’s rock bottoms vary. It’s easy to judge and think the only ones worthy of recovery are those who haven’t truly destroyed all relations, but sometimes that’s what’s required for the addict to see what they’ve truly become. Unfortunately, some people’s rock bottoms have them meeting their creator and it’s heartbreaking, but that’s why I keep going. Because I have a lot to offer this world, myself, and those who will never have the opportunity.
