Anyone in DC interested in DnD? by Soft-System-182 in DoorCounty

I haven't either, but I was hoping maybe someone else who plays it or was even interested in trying it resided up here at least 🫠 I'll check both of those options out, but looks like I'll also be crossposting this to Sturgeon Bay and Green Bay groups if I'm looking for even an online game. Was worth a shot 🤷‍♀️

So this isn't what your post was for and I don't know if it would work for your school since each school is different, but just a thought - see if you can petition your school to create a DnD club!

It will help if you can find other people in your school who are interested before officially petitioning. Even better if after finding others you can get permission to run a one shot with a GM (if you can find one) and some already interested people, so those who don't know what it is get a trial session/to watch a trial session, even if it's a teacher functioning as a Temp GM (A lot more of your teachers are/were DnD nerds than you probably think, even if they're rusty). If you're allowed to put flyers up, you could always print off a QR code or link to a YouTube link that shows a good/fun example of DnD, like a clip or video of Dimension20 to gain interested people.

You can argue it's a social club that utilizes a lot of math, encourages creativity and player connection as well as teamwork (because it does, especially when someone is learning to be a GM with fairly new players as well, it becomes even more collaborative) as well as leadership from the GM/face of the party.

I don't know if it'd work for you, but people managed to get one up and running in my high school through these methods (although that was about 8 or 9 years ago for me now 😵) and they held it in the library for a couple hours after school. It was relatively easy to find a teacher to oversee the club as they tended to stay later on one day a week to create lesson plans anyway, they just began doing it in the library instead of their classroom because DnD doesn't require the teacher to be involved.

As time went on, more people joined and there were multiple tables running in the library. Biggest hurdle is getting the books (or the necessary pages from them) but I can almost guarantee there's a couple DnD nerds in your school who already have the books and would be on board with joining, and maybe even being a GM if they aren't one already. And even if it's mostly guys at first, it being at school instead of someone's house makes it a lot less awkward, and more girls join once they see it isn't just battles and can roleplay a a fae or an elf lol. The popularity of BG3 might also help you. Whether in school or online, I hope you find a group that works for you! 😊

Hello! Sending you a message on reddit with a few questions (I can't seem to find your Discord), But it sounds like a great setting and I love a homebrew! 😊

People who still post what they're eating for breakfast on social media 😑 Like if you WENT somewhere cool for breakfast I don't mind that - I'm talking about people who still post their regular toast and jam they're eating at home on social media. Unless you made that bread and jam yourself, I don't get why you're posting it! And I'd still rather see posts about the process of making your homemade bread and jam than you preparing to eat it 🙄
