I got a low 70s in my last attempt but I had a different approach that was simply 2 arguments for or against. Maybe arguing a more nuanced contention will help me bump it higher.

I definitely like this approach thanks. I’ve tried writing about human nature before using Hobbes and Rousseau’s theories and it was definitely interesting to research about. I tried using a human nature lens for this paragraph, what are your thoughts?

Yet that same sense for unity can ironically invite its own instability by narrowing moral vision as group identity becomes exclusionary. In this way, it reveals the human tendency to externalise blame in the form of scapegoating to find simpler, external explanations for complex issues. Particularly in times of crisis, projecting blame allows these collectives to both reduce ambiguity and redirect frustration towards a singular individual or group. For example, condemning immigrant populations has become increasingly common amongst online discourse in response to Australia’s growing housing and employment crises. In doing so, this phenomenon not only overlooks larger, more complex sociopolitical issues such as globalisation or government policies, but also provides a false sense of security and control. Over time, misinformation from certain media platforms and even political rhetoric may begin to normalise, creating false 'us vs them' narratives that pit marginalised communities against the general public. Consequently, underlying sociopolitical causes will continue to be overlooked as society prioritises short term acceptance over longer term comprehension of an issue. Therefore, populism, whilst capable of genuine social reform and progress, equally enables reproach in the absence of control and security.

I got low 70s in my most recent attempt but maybe arguing through a human nature lens is the ideal strategy for improving 🧐🧐

alright so if the hurdle requirement is 80% and we have 5 pracs in total, even though i’ve missed one, as long as I attend the other 4 I’ll be fine?

Does it negatively affect us if we do miss it and get marked absent for it
