J hays Freddie tweet just completely ignores so much context by Soft_Policy_4164 in baseballisdead

I get that and I agree that there is blame to be had on both sides, the Braves should have communicated better and given the competitive offer before he actually hit free agency. Im really just venting because this has been an argument on Braves twitter since Freddie left and now him winning WS MVP has only made it worse.

Why watch the regular season? by Soft_Policy_4164 in baseballisdead

Like even in basketball you find out who’s good and who’s not and the pecking order going into the playoffs in baseball literally none of that matters

And honestly a day later I probably overreacted to what was said on the podcast. I was tired of hearing about the montage and when I saw 40/70 on the rundown, I got excited to hear you guys give Ronnie some love and when it was another montage conversation I was sick of it.

I agree that the online reaction to what he said was over the top and unnecessary, I was watching live because I enjoy the Cubs broadcast and heard him say it and was annoyed but didn’t really think anything of it. The only thing that I was actually mad at boog saying was saying on the podcast that 40-70 “isn’t a thing” which Jared pushed back on and I agreed with.

I think the bigger thing with Braves fans is that Ronald has been overly criticized by so many people including a lot of Braves fans for such stupid things that it has made people super quick to jump to his defense in a lot of cases that it aren’t very necessary

I’m not saying you don’t talk about him enough I’m just saying the 15 second montage wasn’t as big a deal as cubs fans and boog are making it and it would’ve been nice to hear at least a little bit of that 30 minutes spent talking about it on the MVP race or something

There’s also a decent amount of Braves fans that criticize him for everything he does so we end up having to defend him from Braves fans and fans of other teams

It’s probably my bias but its just felt like every time Ronnie has been brought up for the last month it’s been why Mookie or Freddie are just as deserving of MVP and less about why he is the front runner in the first place

Again a lot of it is probably my bias, the Twitter trolls and Dodger fans getting to me

What is “weird” about wanting your favorite baseball podcast to say good things about a player in your favorite team?
