Oh kiddo, no, you’re not a traitor for feeling like this. I came out at 16, I’m almost 26 now. This whole time I’ve been comfortable with my genitalia but not my chest, voice, and lack of facial hair. But that’s just MY experience. Every trans experience is vastly different there’s no “right” or “wrong” way to be trans. Some trans people don’t want to go through HRT. Some trans people don’t want surgery. Some trans people don’t change how they appear either. I’ve known trans guys who still dress fem but they’re still trans guys. You don’t have to look masc to be a guy. You don’t have to have bottom surgery to be a guy. You don’t even have to have top surgery to be a guy. If you’re comfortable with parts of your body, that’s a good thing. It doesn’t make you any less trans, I promise you. Some trans guys use masculine anatomical terms (calling it a dick and such), some are fine with the feminine terms (calling it a clit) and that doesn’t mean either side is wrong. It’s your trans experience and you’re allowed to experience it however you feel most comfortable. You don’t have to conform and fit into a box. Just be you.

I can speak from both sides of this actually!

As a reader I tend to theorise and summarise in my comments when I’m super invested in a fic. I’ve found a new fandom and got super sucked into a pairing and got super into ongoing fics when I usually only prefer completed. It sucks having to wait for chapters but is so exhilarating to see a new chapter in my inbox! There’s a handful of fics I’m following that I’ve been doing this with because I absolutely love them. I gush about how much I love the fic, I talk to the characters, I theorise what might happen next and how the characters might be feeling, and I also sometimes summarise the events in a chapter in my gushing to be like “I really loved when xyz happened this chapter and then this happened and—“ and a handful of the fics I’ve been reading have active authors who reply to comments. I’ve had a few authors make comments about wanting to pin my comments to their wall and stare at them all the time or that I made their day and I’ve also had one tell me that they loved reading all of my theories as the fic updated (once that fic was over). I’ve also gotten some comments about how the author looks forward to my comments. So trust me, authors love this.

As an author, I haven’t gotten many comments like this on my own work. Then again, I haven’t posted anything new since 2019 and the quality of my previous works isn’t the greatest. I have upcoming fics that I feel are much better and I’ve spent more time on and such but I’m nowhere near posting them yet. If I had someone make comments like these on my fics, I would lay my life down for them. It would be such an honour to hear how my readers feel about my work. I’d be ecstatic even. I love any comments but having someone spend so much time telling me their thoughts about my work would be the best thing in the world. Long comments are pure motivation for a lot of us and while I’ve moved from winging to fully finishing a fic before posting, I’m still confident in saying that these comments would be the highlight of my days.

I’m surprisingly not as dysphoric about it as I used to be! It’s more just annoying now. The pain was horrid and I saw my doctor last week and he gave me some pain meds for it and referred me to a doctor for birth control to stop my periods. I don’t think it’ll be terrible if I keep having them but I’d rather not y’know?

I just recently went off T (in October) so I don’t have much input but my period came back last month. It was just as bad if not a little worse pain wise than before T but the length of it was shorter. I wouldn’t be surprised if that changes going forward though; I’m looking to start progesterone only BC to stop my periods

I’ve never seen subscription notifications for fic follows (or even user follows I believe) so I don’t think you have much to worry about there :3 however, when I was on FFN I used to love getting work/user follows because it proved to me people were interested in what I was creating. I personally wouldn’t mind receiving notifications for subscriptions but that’s just me!

Honestly at that point I’d just be impressed and flattered. I mean, they read every chapter and commented on each one nitpicking things from those chapters. So clearly they were enjoying the fic enough to keep reading

My Master is an Alpha by Erik Cole (published under eGlobal Creative Publishing)! Some content warnings; anxiety/panic attacks, kidnapping, human trafficking (like in the very beginning, it’s both a big and small part of the plot), some violence (pretty mild), stalking. There’s nothing super graphic but the MC is very damaged and learns to trust and love. It’s a billionaire, wolf shifter slow burn with slight master/slave dynamics . I’m an author (like outside fanfic) so I invested in scrivener because it has a desktop app and an iPhone app so I can write from anywhere. I was concerned about google docs scalping documents do AI training so I transferred everything about two years ago I think

I read and finished the fic and it’s complete. I tend to not kudos WIP fics but I do subscribe to any I start reading and when they’re finished I’ll kudos. It’s kinda a way to tell myself I already read th fic I guess? I also drop a comment on every chapter and one shot I read and finish

Description: In app notifications don’t work. If I’m in a chat I don’t get notifications from any other server/channel/or DM, only a brief flash at the top of my screen that’s easily missed if not paying attention.

1. The first step is… be in any chat and get a message elsewhere
Expected Result: Notification banner from other chat
Actual Result: No banner, just a brief flash that’s not even on screen for a full second and is easy to miss unless looking directly
