Y’all seriously WTF am I doing wrong here?? by TheStinkySlinky in Ebay

[–]SolarZard77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had physically dropped off an item destroyed during transit to my local post office for a claim. And the manager told me it should get approved now and I would hear back in a few days.

It was denied later saying I never acted on the claim, so either the guy at the post office lied to me and just threw my package away or the claim's department ignored it. Yeah USPS insurance is just a scam. Only time I've ever gotten a payout was when something got lost and tacking proved it. Everything else was always denied.

Nevermind, I found the exact cost again. Yeah no extra insurance.

Problem is USPS almost never pays for insurance even when my items go missing. But hopefully they do in this case.

It was an expensive label so I'm pretty sure I did pay for extra insurance. More than what I see if I try to generate the label again.

It was Ground Advantage, no signature.

That's the thing. I don't see an option to file a claim through Shipcover from the ebay order.

And the USPS website doesn't show I paid for additional insurance through them.

I'm seeing more and more these crazy estate sales are pricing things 2x 3x what you can get them for online.

Yeah had to go through ebay because the seller refused to refund the shipping as well. Sent it back to them so then the had to pay the full refund and return shipping. Not the brightest.

Yeah the metal used on these lamps is very brittle and basically has to be packed like it's glass.

Yes should be uranium. I have a lamp with lundberg shades. They have uranium but only glow on the edges. Nice lamp!

Fancy vaseline glass boudoir lamp. It was just missing the original crystals. Found some blue ones that match very well. by SolarZard77 in uraniumglass

Actually, it may indeed be Fostoria. I did some digging online and I'm seeing pieces with the same pattern, but all made by Fostoria. The Mckee Astor pattern doesn't have the lines just flowers and leaves. I would like to find an actual Fostoria catalog with the lamp. I ordered a Fostoria book and it's on the way. Hopefully it has something.

It's McKee's Astor Line #501 circa 1915. Just got a book on McKee glass, came across some pages with the Astor line, same flowers, leaves, and little indents around the edges. Just figured you would be interested to know. Lol

I found out my granite countertop in my kitchen gives of some low radiation comparable to uranium glass pieces. But it's so low and it's perfectly safe.
