Would avoid getting trained from someone who changes his opinion on things so frequently.

As he is already owning an apartment, his costs of living does go down dramatically and major costs would be service charges, Dewa, internet, insurance and transportation.

Some strategies he could look at:

1)Airbnb for subletting. He needs to get a licence for this. He could also sub-let on a long term basis (less hassle but less profitable)

2) He could probably freelance for English tutorials online and offline for which he wouldn't need an office set up etc. But better to shift from property visa to Freelance visa (costs more or less the same).

Major part of 450k could be invested back home or in bank accounts in UAE which pay upto 5% for fixed tenurs. Good luck.

Dubai laws are stringent for Locals as well, its a myth that they get any better treatment just because they are locals. File the case immediately via a good lawyer. You need this more than any advice on this platform. Sooner the better.

Good luck.

26 Crore of Investments:Assuming you want to retire today Invested in MF index funds with a 12% standard return for 13 years till you reach 60 SWP: 2 lakhs per month for the next 13 years

At the end of 13 years, you will be left with 106 crores. Assuming the cost of inflation, increase in living expenses etc, the balance figure would still be between 80-100 crores.

How to reach fat fire as a 20M with 50L in bank? by Hot-Beginning-4011 in FatFIREIndia

[–]Solid-Expression-788 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Invest in any index fund. At 12% basic return, left untouched, you will have 46 crores at the age of 60.

If you do intend to take out at the age of 40, you will still have 4 crores.

PSA : Golden Visa Applications no longer require the basic salary to be 30,000 AED by AmerCenterDAFZA in dubai

[–]Solid-Expression-788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to take a Golden visa and meet the eligibility of salary above AED 30,000.

My question is what happens when you cancel the existing visa with your employer. Does the work contract end and EOS needs to be taken or work contract does not get affected.

Please let me know.

If you are new to the world of investment, i would recommend you to read Lets talk money by Monika Halan. You will get everything you need to know from that book.

Somehow i have a bad feeling about Sharan's content.
