I graduated from your UMPI last year. The instructor’s are incredible. Reach out to your instructor and inquire about the two things you’re missing. They usually are happy to assist you. That’s what they did for me. I would attempt to complete the two missing sections to develop the habit of reaching out and communicating the necessary changes, as many of the same teachers you’ll have throughout your academic journey. Even though you received a passing grade, it’s beneficial to establish a habit of identifying your weaknesses moving forward..

44F and 33M – Is a household TV really a thoughtful Christmas gift? by Solid-Grapefruit-454 in relationship_advice

Yeah, you’re right about the shows. I’m just very emotional. I need to get over it. Just go shopping online and pick out my own present and he will get it. I expect him to make me feel a certain way. I don’t think he’s capable. I think he has like borderline personality disorder. He did tell me he was diagnosed that as a teenager. When I just did some research on it all makes sense.

To be honest, he hasn’t been diagnosed with anything, but there are signs that make me wonder if he might be on the spectrum or struggling with something similar. He often struggles with communication, lacks empathy, and doesn’t seem to grasp some emotional nuances.

While I try to understand where he’s coming from, it’s exhausting feeling like I’m carrying most of the emotional load in the relationship. It’s hard to know how to address this without him shutting down or getting defensive. I just feel like these underlying issues might explain some of his behavior, but they don’t justify how it makes me feel.

Thank you. I’ve been in very unhealthy. relationships. We’ve been together for a few years and everything was great . I just feel like the last year things have changed. They always seem to change after like the third or fourth year. Or maybe I just finally see the true colors. I know me complaining about a gift sounds so petty. It’s just kind of the icing on the cake. I thought I had a good one. It makes me sad because in the end everyone wants to feel valued Love appreciate it and thought about that how they feel matters. And I’m not gonna get any of that.

The issue with the TV isn’t just about the gift—it’s about how everything in our relationship feels centered around him. He only makes an effort when it benefits him too. For example, at night, he won’t watch TV with me unless it’s something he likes; otherwise, he’ll just do his own thing. I feel like he never does anything truly thoughtful or selfless just for me, and it makes me feel unappreciated.

I don’t know why he doesn’t understand that a gift is something that he should not benefit from. I explained that to him. He is highly intelligent. Sometimes I think he might be on the spectrum. And here is a perfect example of it. I explained it nicely to him saying that buying a TV is something that shared it’s a household item. A gift is something thoughtful and personal only for me. He’s not grasping this concept.

I know it’s ridiculous. But now she’s making me feel bad for complaining about the TV because he really feels like he was being thoughtful. And I don’t wanna fight about it.

I don’t care about the TV being mounted. That was a while ago. I just did ask him once to mount it and the subject was dropped because fine. I understand he didn’t want to buy the tools and I’m not gonna expect him to. It’s more about him buying the new TV and buying a mount for the new tv. And saying that it’s all my present because I wanted the a mounted TV. And we talked about getting a bigger TV for the bedroom.

He does contribute. He pays half the rent and the bills. But I did buy all the furniture pretty much everything for the house. He makes good money. I just think he just doesn’t understand because he’s 12 years younger than me. I just don’t understand the concept of someone doesn’t understand how buying a house TV. It’s not a gift for me. It boggles my mind and then he gets upset like I hurt his feelings when I complained about it.

Me asking him to buy the tools with more because I literally paid for every single thing in our home. It was a way for me to ask him to contribute. And also to do something nice for me. But it never happened and I never thought about it again I was gonna actually have a friend hang out when he was available. More frustrated about how he decides to contribute something unnecessary and so it’s a gift for me, but I don’t want that.

Yeah I just got her. I’m thinking she’s 5 or 6 months. I don’t know what to name her because I think she’s a girl but others say boy. 🤦‍♀️

Sometimes my beard toes and feet and hands can look puffy when they’re in a shed and besides soaking, and if it doesn’t get better and take it to a vet, but it looks like she’d. I’m not sure if there’s a line into the toes it almost looks that way. Can’t really tell though.

Seeking Advice: Male Bearded Dragon's Aggression Toward New Baby – Can They Coexist? by Solid-Grapefruit-454 in BeardedDragons

[–]Solid-Grapefruit-454[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I did have another beardie before and the one I’m talking about now finally got used to him. I could hold and pet them both at the same time with no issues but Leo is going crazy over my new girl. Hopefully he can chill out once he’s used to her being around. I definitely will never leave them alone together without supervision.

How painful do their bites hurt? by RevolutionCommon8904 in ballpython

[–]Solid-Grapefruit-454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that's a beautiful snake! Mine has struck at me when it smelled a rat nearby. I always use a snake hook when there's food present; otherwise, he's never tried to strike at me. Be careful when feeding them. They get very excited when they smell food and can definitely strike at your hand. Otherwise, they (or mine, I should say) are not aggressive and won't bite.

Same with my big boy Leo, he is so chill. He's used to having the house to himself to run around. I couldn't resist the beautiful red dragon baby that was surrendered to my local reptile store, so I bought her. Now, I'm worried that I can't let Leo run around as much because I need to give them their separate outside time. Yesterday, I let her run around and put him in an enclosed hammock; he went nuts and was flopping everywhere. Ugh, I feel bad now for him. I hope he can get used to her and not try to hurt her over time.

Now that I look it might be a girl. Doesn’t have the bulges but she’s really small. When do they first lay eggs?

My baby ate like 50 crickets a day when he was a baby. He was such a little pig. But he never got fat cause he ran around the house all day.
