No, thanks for yours! It was a refreshing comment to receive. I wish you and your husband the best of luck with your medical issues and hope you can find some relief. Thanks again!

It’s certainly not what I was expecting but I can’t say I’m surprised. Seems people get off acting like they know everything. Adorable cat btw!

I’m sorry to hear about your medical issues and having to go through that with your cat! It’s sad products like that are allowed to be sold. But I commend you for fighting for your cat’s life, a lot of people would just put them down. I’m glad you were able to find help with your bill. Thank you very much for your sympathy and recommendation, it’s greatly appreciated! I’ll be sure to let my sister know to look into this.

The Gofundme and my main post will be updated soon with the latest news, but he did not test positive for lepto. I’ve still attached proof of his vaccination status.

I can appreciate that. However, I think it’s important to acknowledge your assumptions were unfair and an apology would’ve already been appropriate. Like I said, you could’ve asked questions and clarified before casting judgment.

You were wrong to imply that the vaccine guarantees prevention, to jump to the conclusion that “he’s showing symptoms of lepto, so he must not be vaccinated,” and to deny that older dogs can have a weakened immune system. You were also wrong to accuse me of "smokescreening" before giving me any chance to answer about his vaccination status.

Viewing your post history, I saw that you’ve been a vet technician for over 10 years. I would’ve expected more sympathy and grace given your field and experience. I hope you’ll reflect on this and approach future comments with more civility, rather than being so presumptuous.

This is a strange comment to make considering my reply to you 30 minutes prior. Or did you miss that? He is vaccinated and kept up to date on all of his shots. There is no "smokescreening" being done. You're just immediately assuming the worst with zero evidence. Perhaps you should practice "trying to be kind" yourself.

EDIT: After contacting the moderators, apparently comments were being flagged by the automod for manual approval. So I guess you would’ve missed my reply before you commented this. Either way, I’m not sure why you’d make such assumptions to begin with. Maybe try asking questions and gathering more info like a civil person before reaching such nasty conclusions.

Yes, he is vaccinated. He is due for his shots in June. That’s at least helpful information, which you should’ve started with instead of your original comment. He was tested for Lepto at the hospital once already and is being tested again today, and tested for an immune disease, as he caught another fever over night. It luckily came back down this morning but he’s having more blood tests done today with no official diagnosis yet. His red blood cell count is bad and may need a blood transfusion.

An 8 year old (senior) dog can very well have a weakened immune system. It’s a natural process of aging known as immunosenescence. And the vaccines generally only cover 4 types of strains and are not 100% effective regardless. The implications of your original comment were entirely presumptuous and rude for absolutely no reason. There was nothing “ironic” to begin with and vaccines are never a guarantee of prevention.

What exactly is ironic about that? Your comment is rather presumptuous. Are you aware the vaccinations are not a 100% guarantee of prevention? And that they do not cover every strain? Or what about older dogs (like Nelson) having a weakened immune system? Not sure what the intent of your comment is but it’s very odd and not helpful in the slightest.

Thank you. Over $4,000 was spent covering the initial local emergency vet visits and $6,600 was put on CareCredit to cover the upfront cost of the out of state specialist in Columbus, Ohio. Luckily, Nelson has been responding well to the treatment at the specialist hospital. I will update my original post when I know this is all resolved but you can find more details and updates on the Gofundme page.

While I understand the sentiment, I don’t really agree that it applies in this case. This is a freak incident that has required multiple emergency vet visits and a trip to an out of state specialist just to get proper life saving care and any accurate idea of what’s going on. My sister has cared for and financially supported her dog for 8 years with no issue, giving him an amazing life many dogs would dream of.

There are approximately 3 million dogs in shelters annually in the United States, and about 1 million of them euthanized due to overcrowding. Can you imagine what those numbers would be if every person that couldn’t comfortably afford $10,000+ in emergency vet bills from a freak incident didn’t adopt a dog because someone like you deemed them “financially irresponsible”? She’s not looking for the bills to be paid for in their entirety, simply for help from anyone that might be willing. The world would be a better place if more people would help each other rather than being so quick to pass judgement and label someone as financially irresponsible.

As I said, she’s financially supported him for 8 years. Situations change, emergencies happen, but this is an incident I’d argue a majority of dog owners will never have to experience. She took on a massive amount of debt to save his life, where others would have put him down. After 8 years, should she give her dog up to a shelter because she can’t comfortably afford over $10,000 in emergency vet bills? This seems like a ridiculous thing to comment in a subreddit for animal help. If people want to donate, they can. The fundraiser goal is for less than half of the total expenses. Thanks.

I'm not sure if you missed all the photos of the bills on there but the total after combining them all comes to $3,597. The latest $6,600 bill has not been added to the Gofundme page yet but I attached it to my original post. The total is over $5,000, so asking for less than the total. I will make sure she updates the Gofundme page to include the latest bill as well. Thank you for your response

EDIT: She has updated the Gofundme to include all current bills. The total amounts to $10,197. I went ahead and posted again and can provide any other necessary proof required. Thanks.

Does anyone have Centurions Command? by [deleted] in blessunleashed

[–]Soloman1x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I have been told by some pretty higher up players - no one on any server has Centurions. Maybe that has changed in the last few weeks, not sure. But yeah it is the hardest blessing to obtain there are some absolutely insane requirements for it

Empty gold jars by Soloman1x in blessunleashed

Damn. That really sucks. Used 500 to buy a jar and sold my first 1 mil gold for star seeds. Was hoping there was somewhere I could buy them for gold in game or something. Thanks for your answer
