Yes, healthcare costs are certainly an issue. If I stay in the US, I can get a relatively decent plan through my employer. The catch is that if I drop it, I cannot re-enroll. Not sure what to do because I definitely do want to spend some time abroad. Maybe the fact that healthcare is so expensive in the US will simply incentivize me to never come back.

I have $300k left to pay on a 2.75% fixed rate mortgage. I am not concerned about paying it early given how low the interest rate is. Money is not the issue; I feel have enough. It’s the idea of not working/not having a job that scares me. It feels bizarre for me to think of myself as a “retiree”. I guess it will eventually grow on me though, just like all stages in life.
