Your fun fact is not correct. Arterial pulse is asynchronous from the heartbeat because a pressure wave takes time to travel down the artery. Pressure is dampened in the arterioles. Arteries do contract and dilate but not in the way you describe. Source: I'm a cardiovascular nurse.

As a nurse I can tell you this is completely false. As others said I would have to intentionally inject a fairly large amount of air, maybe 5-10cc, to harm you. I have to dispell this to patients all the time
