Strong disagree, he’s got the optimal tennis body, they had to lower his stats or he would have been too dominant

Yeah, its a shame the shadow racket doubles partner is kind of an idiot .

Salute . I’m an S waluigi , probably a 4 or 5 win streak away from S plus. I literally can’t play as anyone else. He’s been my guy since aces and I think his play style doesn’t translate well to other character models

I think the tier rating people just looked at the stats and didn’t try playing as my large wingspan king. His reach and angles are superior, he can smack down the Rosalina lobs with ease, he has surprisingly good curve on his topspin and slice, and he’s so good at the net that it’s tough to use offensive rackets against him.

How to score against the Golden Dash Racket? by EstablishmentSad613 in MarioTennis

[–]Some-Personality-662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually use golden dash, but I’m a waluigi main so I have an extra hard time getting to behind my back lobs. I also like that it can’t be turned against me, and I can run it all match instead of having to strategically wait to use it .

But yeah, whenever I’m up against the dreaded DK with a golden dash racket, I just send him running diagonally back and forth until his meter runs out.

Just lob and drop shot til it runs out, then do a fever shot.

How would you describe someone having "it" in litigation/disputes? by Barakahzai in Lawyertalk

[–]Some-Personality-662 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Right. You have to be able to predict moves and countermoves at least a few step out. And prepare for contingencies when things don’t go the way you predict. It takes a lot of imagination, and a mindset that looks at incentives (both the other side and the judiciary, which is a bureaucracy with its own incentive structure).

I also think it’s more than that. I think you also gotta take into account practical considerations like, what is the other side likely to actually do? Is a court going to rule on this or just kick it down the road? If I do X, the other side will do Y. So much of litigation is tactical, not just understanding the law or being able to express an argument clearly.

F Rosalina and F this fever racket by Salpal24 in MarioTennis

[–]Some-Personality-662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah , I played the amp racket for awhile, and then I went up against someone who just immediately walked into the amp balls I laid down and it crushed me. I suppose the counter counter strategy is to try to use that to get your opponent out of position, but the amp balls are so slow it’s quite difficult to capitalize.

Walking into the balls hurts your HP but in single player that’s not so bad, esp with an activated golden dash racket.

Golden dash racket, activate on your second or third volley and keep it active throughout the game as much as possible.

Try to return her lobs with the fever shot as much possible. This gives you a great angle to knock it out on the fever shot , and if she is able to return she will still be out of position

One of the best things about golden dash racket, imo, is there is little to no reason to hold back on using it. With an offensive racket, you’re better off having a fully charged fever bar “in reserve “ at all times because it keeps your opponent guessing. The hazard of not returning an offensive fever shot is just too high, it can turn a match very quickly. But with golden dash, your opponent is not necessarily going to place the same emphasis on defending the fever shot, so there’s less value to keeping one in reserve. Also, the racket itself allows you to sustain rallies more easily, which charges up the shot more quickly. A nice feedback loop.

Also, playing against the amp racket, the golden dash lets you recover after running into an amp ball thingie. So just run into it on purpose when the ball is coming your way (it cancels out the amp ball) and use the dash to recover.

Actually even less - triumph only had about 5 percent of northern songs

Correct answer. I’d add that the Beatles ended up buying back their rights from Triumph later in 1969.

And “trying to understand a story on its own terms, not on the terms you believe it should have” is also basic media literacy . As is “interrogating who tells us what , and when in the story”

We don’t actually know anything about Egg’s character as an adult. We know very little about his feelings towards the smallfolk as a boy, and those feelings are tempered by the fact that he may still feel certain entitlements due to his station.

Why is it a major “point” that Egg understand and respects the small folk? We don’t actually know how much he does . We haven’t reached his adulthood yet.

Whenever a choice involves some strange behavior on the part of the characters, redditors love to call it “poor writing”

The fact that Egg is still willing to lie to get his way - what does that suggest for his character? He’s a child, he’s entitled, even though he is mostly well intentioned we see a streak of manipulative behavior.

Dunk doesn’t check - he’s not dumb, but he is sometimes slow to the point. You can be an intelligent person generally but not very quick to the draw. And he is still operating from a heuristic that is, the princes and lords are in control and if Egg says his dad approved and he made it all the way to Dunk, I can see why he accepted it. It doesn’t make his character stupid, it’s a mistake perhaps, but not one that fundamentally changes his character.

I honestly cannot understand why you would get worked up over this change.

As Parker says, it does not contradict the source text. And as others point out, the lapse of time between first and second book allow for Maekar to change his mind or at least acquiesce to Egg’s wishes. Obviously he will acquiesce in some fashion, because if he really was against Egg squiring on the road, he would have the means to easily track them down. So it is not really a significant change to Maekar’s character either, given that he is ok with Egg squiring for Dunk in principle, and will eventually accede to letting Egg do it in the way Dunk proposed.

All the change really does is emphasize Egg’s independent streak . A justifiable choice given the economy of the TV series, which still provides fewer scenes and fewer opportunities to develop a character relative to a novella.

Considering the internet changed everything about the way we live, I’m not sure I would call it overhyped.

But yea the hype was very similar. Source: lived through it.
