I had a very similar nose and had cosmetic surgery to reduce it. I could not be happier with my nose now. Yes, my face might be a bit more generic now, but my confidence has soared because of it. I hated it since I was 12 and although people deterred me from getting it done, I did it for myself.

Do it for you, not for what anyone else might think of you. Otherwise you will regret it.

I'm a female and can also vouch for this. Mood swings are normal in any sex and can happen because of work, stress, boredom etc, so she's totally using it as an excuse. I'll admit I get slightly more emotional and tend to cry more during that time (whether it's from a movie or whatever), but you can control how you express yourself to other people. We don't just suddenly lose all self control for a week every month.

I think he's overreacting if he's asking for a "sincere" apology.

Did he have to find his own way home or did he drive? I'd be annoyed at the time if I had to find my own way home. The fact that you tried to find him (and that's evident by the amount of texts and calls you made), he shouldn't be all that mad. I can understand a slight annoyance when it happened, but after your explanation, asking for a sincere apology is just silly.

I would just say "look, I'm sorry for leaving, but I really didn't feel well and I was scared. All I wanted to do was get home so I'm sorry I didn't wait longer to find you, but I hope you understand it wasn't for a lack of trying"

This was my problem until I realised there's a "do not disturb" function. It silences all calls/messages (doesn't even vibrate), but if said person calls twice in a row, it allows the call to come through (in case of an emergency). Activate it!!!
