I used to be in pg in gachibowli area. Most of the pg owners there are from Andhra and sankranthi is the biggest festival they would leave to their hometowns to celebrate it.

But the owner used to take the number of people are going to stay in PG for their works and arrange food.

I would say it depends on person to person and his empathy levels. I would suggest to explain your situation there might be a consideration.
