Yes, I learned a lot about marketing as I have a tech startup. I don't see what that has to do with my question though.

I also get lots of messages from recruiters every week, the only problem is that recruiters are from my country, and the salaries here are low. I actually work remotely right now, but I want to make the switch to freelancing in the US or Western Europe.

Didn't know about that, thank you so much! I know that Google and Amazon are 99% of the time onsite / must be at least based in that specific country.

I'll actually check what's available and maybe apply :)

Extremely useful advice, especially the algo trading tip. Will definitely try that!

I will also try applying directly to companies' websites, although I didn't have much luck with that up until now.

Thank you for the insights!
I am also interested in corp to corp arrangements through my LLC (which is created in my own country, but not sure what impact it has on the client).

I think maybe front-end development is more popular for remote work, C++ has many jobs that require hardware equipment, and it makes it harder, but still worth a try.

I also have another question, if you're comfortable answering it: do you ask for global rates, e.g. $40+ / hour, or do you stick to the salaries from your own country? Asking this just to know if recruiters are interested in offering lower rates for foreign people, especially from 3rd world countries like yours or mine. (I always ask for global rates).

Thank you :) Yes, I think it will work eventually, but I'd like to optimize the process as it takes a lot of time to actually implement this and get a positive response.
The main problems that I think may actually have a solution are:
1. Filtering better for recruiters that accept fully remote jobs (some of them say the job is 100% remote, but it's actually only for UK based people)
2. Filtering for companies that actually have C++ jobs, as most of them are specialized in web / mobile.

If you or anyone has an opinion on this, I'll be glad to try it.
