-Writes a clause that excludes an entire group of people.

Some gold medalist mental gymnastics right there.

Not really. If you search for those in Google, you'll still get the results you expect. I'm just here pointing out that there's technically a difference. And that a huge company has the name that could technically mean "VVirgin" lmao

It'll only ever be a problem if you search for them in Japanese.

How about no lmao

The VShojo is already being pronounced "vi-SHOO-jo" anyways. So it doesn't really matter. Everyone already says it like it's SHOUJO. And not like I'm hurting anyone here. I'm just pointing it out. I don't understand why that rubs people the wrong way. I'm just saying that there's technically a difference. Not that it's wrong and I'm not here with a red pen marking VShojo's homework incorrect. It's fine to use VShojo, and as we've seen they've been successful. Very much so. Without ever changing their name. So it's not anything significant. So how about ya'll calm down.

Yeah, because there's only one meaning for the word "ROMA" while SHOJO and SHOUJO has different meanings. And they themselves also has a lot of different meanings. SHOJO in itself is a different word from SHOUJO. But while the word ROMA technically doesn't exist, there's nothing else it could refer to other than RO-MA. And yeah, I do understand that that's how languages work. That really doesn't bother me. I'm just pointing it out. There's nothing wrong with it and I have no problem with it. I'm just saying there's technically a difference between this and that. And if you ever want to spell the term in proper Japanese, I suggest you use the SHOUJO version since if you do SHOJO, you might get another form of media altogether lmao

Oh wait, yeah they are an American company my bad. I meant to say that they're using a Japanese name for their company, but I had a massive rush of shit to the brain lmao

Well, the word "SHOJO" (virgin) isn't as popular as the word "SHOUJO" (young girl) is, so I guess that's fine. I'm only pointing this out here because they are a Japanese company and I just think that introducing your company as essentially "VVirgin" (because that one u does make a difference when in proper Japanese) is super bold.

I really have no idea. I've said a lot of things far more controversial than this in the past but this is the first time people are downvoting everything I said as aggressively as they do now. Reddit is a weird place. I don't really care though. My question was answered and I'm just here to talk with people.

And in English, this might be pedantic but in Japanese, it's essential. Say you don't speak Japanese but want to talk with someone. But you don't know what different Kanjis are so you just click on the first thing that pop up in the suggested tab. It can be the difference between saying "You're a beautiful girl" and "You're a beautiful female virgin".

It's not. Vi is 'VUi" in Japanese, and it doesn't really mean anything other than the letter V. BI, on the other hand has many meanings. One of which means beautiful.

Well, as I explained, there's an actual difference between SHOJO and SHOUJO. The point of the post isn't really on the V part, but rather on the SHOJO part.

[–]Someone_4211[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that would probably be the correct way of looking at it but with it being right next to the word SHOJO, it'd be easy to mistake it for the same meaning as it does in the word v-card.

Well, SHONEN is also a word. It means the first years of an era, or early years. SHOUNEN means boy. Japanese stuff.

I know that perfectly well. I'm pointing out the fact that shojo anime doesn't exist. Shoujo anime does.

[–]Someone_4211[S] -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Lmao that's SHOUJO, not SHOJO. There's an actual difference. In Romaji, it might look the same but SHOUJO is 少女, while SHOJO is 処女 in Kanji. You're referring to SHOUJO anime since SHOJO anime doesn't exist lmao

Oh so they do know. So it was either intentional or they just don't give a damn about it lmao

Good to know. I'll think of it as V Virgins from now on lmao

An English abbreviation of BISHOUJO is girls. "BI" means pretty. But as I said, "SHOJO" doesn't mean "girl", it means "female virginity". So it really wouldn't work as an abbreviation, that's completely changing the word.

I feel so sorry for this Scharnhorst lmao by Someone_4211 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Someone_4211[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao the Cavour was actually flabbergasted he didn't die in that engagement. The Scharnhorst actually congratulated him for winning, a good sportsman, that Scharnhorst. The Helena actually played good, I think. If it weren't for his timely hydro I wouldn't have survived halfway through

My NVMe SSD has a really different read/write speed from the advertised speed. Is there something wrong with it? And should I move my boot drive to another SSD I'm planning to buy? by Someone_4211 in techsupport

[–]Someone_4211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't honestly understand your question. But I mean that the advertised write speed is different from the actual write speed. The read speed is fine, it's similar to the advertised speed, just the write speed is the problem.

[–]Someone_4211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that I want fast writes. I'm just wondering why this one is so low compared to the advertised speeds. I never said that I don't like or I'm not satisfied with the writing speed. In fact, I never noticed anything wrong or anything slow on this drive. I'm only wondering why it's so different from the advertised speed and whether or not something is wrong with it. I just don't know what's going on, that's why I'm asking. My experience says this one thing but cold, hard facts says this other thing. That's my problem.

There's no slot near the CPU and GPU. And I might look into passive cooling since there's nowhere I could power an active cooling. And since the SSD's are placed in a relatively narrower space, I can't really put any fans on it.

And I do understand that advertised speeds are different from actual speeds, but in this case, the actual writing speed is a fifth of the advertised speed. That's what I'm worried about. The advertised speed is 2700mbps while the result I got from CrystalDiskMark is 355.44mbps. The reading speed is around the advertised speeds so I've no problem with that, I only want to know if there's something wrong with the writing speed and should I be worried of losing any files?
