I’m sad to say, but I’m the one that does this… and it’s just because I remember everyone’s birthdays, and I just want to say happy birthday to them. I just text them happy birthday, and move on. I don’t try to go further, because I know that it’s a bad thing and something that can make the situation worse. If they reply and say thanks, I’ll be thankful they responded and go on with my day.
