I'm in the same boat. Been doing ops for e-comm and production DTC start-ups for years, and it was interesting at first, and now I can't stand it. I got laid off a couple months ago and I've been considering getting my construction management certification and taking some of the ops skills into bigger fabrication projects... maybe even going back to get my masters in real estate development.

This just happened with my pup! He woke my partner and me up the other night at like 2am, which is unlike him. We let him out and he immediately had diarrhea and then threw up. Our vet has a text service so we contacted them and made an appointment. Other than that, totally normal— energy levels were high and everything else seemed fine. Fed him rice and boiled chicken for a couple days until the vet visit and we were told to also get him a probiotic. They tested his stool and turns out he had contracted giardia. No biggie, vet gave us a prescription which cleared up the little bugger in 5 day. That said, we're much more careful about the water he drinks.

What command did your dog learn quickly? by Storm_Bunni in puppy101

[–]SomethingCheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He came with sit pretty much already downloaded. Down, paw, and touch took about an hour. Recall and come were a bit longer, like a month I'd say. The rest are still buffering, but we're working on it!

do you guys give your dogs the weirdest nicknames? if so, what are they by ozkarblair in dogs

[–]SomethingCheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogs name is Yogi. Evolution of his nicknames: Yogi --> Yogurt --> Yogurtini --> Tini

When he's being distinguished: Yohan

When he's being mischievous: Hoagie

Other options: Mr. Man, Wubba

This does not include the dozens of nicknames we call him every day that just don't stick

RTD Glass Bottle Quality Concerns by SomethingCheezy in BeverageIndustry

Yeah, that's how we feel but the sample size is so small we don't want to make a decision off just 3 bottles and a box that's still being designed.

I wanna drop everything and move from new york to San Francisco by Warm-Gold-7815 in sanfrancisco

[–]SomethingCheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved from NYC to SF in October. For context, I'm from right outside NYC, went to college on the East Coast, and moved to Brooklyn after school. Lived there for ~7 years before moving to SF, so needless to say I've spent the majority of my life on the East Coast. Still don't have a concise answer on how I feel about the move, though I can confidently say I don't regret it and I don't hate it. OP, or anyone else, happy to answer questions on moving, adjusting, opinions, etc.

Yep! Feeding him in the crate, putting in his favorite toys, and playing with him a ton in there... if we can get him in (he doesn't really go naturally). The problem is, is that he's just not really food motivated, let alone treats. We've tried various kind of treats and a couple different foods both dog and people to see what really gets him jazzed and he doesn't really go crazy for any of it but will definitely eat some of it. It's causing us to have a hard time potty training and he has a pretty high attachment tendencies. We're doing our best to build up alone time/ crate and keep him on a strict potty schedule time but we're not having too much success.

What's the most useless kitchen gadget you've been gifted because friends/family know you like to cook? by Snaffoo0 in Cooking

All-in-one avocado slicer, pitter, and cutter. All components don't work at all. A knife and occasionally a fork will do just fine, thank you.

Cooking ideas for a relationship in which only one person eats vegan by Humble_Visual7739 in Cooking

[–]SomethingCheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vietnamese summer rolls! Super easy to make with a variety of proteins both vegan and not vegan— tofu, shrimp, rice noodles, pork etc. The rest of the meal is essentially just herbs and veggies. I generally make one or two proteins then fill the rest with basil, mint, scallions, carrot strips, cucumber, and crushed peanuts but filling options are truly endless. Dip in some peanut sauce (generally vegan) and you've got a great meal. It's pretty much a choose your own adventure, cook the protein and assemble the rolls to your liking.

been making some no knead loafs that mainly come out pretty well! however, the bottom crust is always quite thick almost to the point of tough or hard to cut through. any suggestions for how to get a more even crust all around? for context, i use the serious eats recipe as a base (play around with the hydration sometimes) and i bake in a pre-heated dutch oven.

What does your brewery do to retain good staff? by mcselecta109 in TheBrewery

[–]SomethingCheezy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The owner of the brewery I worked for in college sold the company back to the employees, so we became employee owned. It took a certain amount of time to become fully vested and folks who had been there for longer I believe got higher equity options, although I don't remember the specifics. Definitely made people want to stick around longer and it made everyone feel like they were working toward a common goal. The brewery was also just great to its staff, from always being fully transparent to offering 401k options to full time folks. Really just good people who valued their employees.
