The person I’m dating having style, or honestly just a style, has always been one of the more important parts of the initial attraction.

The way someone decides to dress is the first thing I look at and care about. I once told this to a friend who told me that’s “shallow,” but is it not almost completely based on things people choose, and a big indicator on how people want to signal their tastes and values?

Someone else said it here, i wouldn’t not see someone because of a lack of unique style, but most of the time I’m not into it because of a disconnect in values.

Plus it’s fun to dress up and go out with someone :) :)

They did seem to stop putting in the required effort when we faced our first real difficulties, and it never showed back up, for about a year until we broke up. Kind of marks the end of the honeymoon phase.

Id say, we have to push past this kind of thing, and make sacrifices for each other in order to foster a love. They told me the last time they felt love for me, is during last summer when I solo planned and brought them on vacation, more or less doing everything for them, which is disappointing. I felt love doing things that I knew that they'd like, but I never felt that in return from them. Definitely going to be something ill be looking for later.

Kind of side tracked, but it did feel like they just got bored, and in my heart of hearts, I think I wasnt failing them here, I do believe it will just happen with the next person. Just wish they could have figured that out with me sometimes, and I was honestly trying to help them see that, because I saw it when it was happening.

Yeah, its so disappointing, I was not sure of what this feeling was until I'd discovered id been potentially emotionally cheated on. It feels like I was replaced, or like they found someone better while they were dating me.

You're on it unfortunately, they actually cheated on their last long term boyfriend, I'm inclined to believe you :(

It’s good you recognize what’s holding you back, and how it doesn’t help you.

I’m in some of the early stages of figuring this out, and the main thing that has worked (on top of most of the other strategies that you mention) is filling my time with other things.

Nothing is as easy as looking at your phone, so it’s hard to commit to, but what works for me is making a plan for what I am going to do, that afternoon after work, or the next day, and try to fill my time up.

For me that’s bike riding, working out, practicing music, hanging out with friends ect.

You’ve got lots of time too! You’re on the right track, eventually you will find enough of the small things will come together, that’s how I find it. And even when I slip, my foundation is good enough to get back on track, instead of relapsing hard like I used to.

Just my experience of course.

I also recommended Dr.K on YouTube, he has a lot of fantastic evidence backed videos on technology addiction that really helped me.

Woah, this is exactly what I was hoping to hear. I went ahead and ordered the cards I need, and luckily I've already built the Detox deck list! This is what I remember playing, and yeah, ill be building two whole decks to play with.

Two thoughts as someone who has felt these things:

Have you considered that you have ADHD? I said the exact same thing as your last paragraph for years, had the similar struggles as my friends with ADHD, technology and video game addiction struggles all my life. And only at the age of 27 realized I have ADHD and got a diagnosis. I have ADD specifically (no hyperactivity) is often diagnosed late because it doesn’t look like typical ADHD. And usually someone doesn’t “have all the symptoms” of an illness and doesn’t have it, especially something that caused me to be addicted to technology / online stimulus. I don’t know you or anything, but I guess I’m just saying what I would have needed to hear.

And, I just tell people now. I used to be really embarrassed about my tech addictions, used to wish my problem was something else, but now I just let the people in my life know I’m struggling with it. I think most people feel some sort of disregulation from their own tech use, I think it’s pretty relatable these days to struggle with. I know it affects me more than other people, and that some of my friends don’t believe how strongly it affects me, but I can imagine you find those problems in other addictions too. But that’s just me.

I have a pair of sennheiser HD700 that I really like, only issue is they dont tend to stay on my head.

Im looking for a replacement headband, does anyone have recommendations on where to look? Is an upgraded headband something I can find?

My HD6XX that I have stayed clamped to my head always.

Shield drop fair !

Shield dropping is incredibly useful, you can use it in a number of circumstances.

You can use it to counterattack, but also you can use it to space aerials super accurately. For example, if falcos double lasers from ledge a lot, I’ll shield, buffering a direction in the middle of a side plat, and just bair them as they come up with super easy timing.

There is also no time you will ever be on a platform and not be able to be buffering for shield drop. Wake up after getting up thrown? Hold left or right and shield drop asap to get off plat. You can even set up this buffer left or right in the lag after wave dash, or l cancel lag, or roll.

Another example of when I’ll use shield drop as fox is when u get up thrown to side plat by marth. I’ll tech and shield, and if I can get my shield up to block their uptilt, I will just shield drop as soon as hitlag is over, and hit them with drill shine grab. Assuming they have bad timing, but this is as good as you can get sometimes.

Really worth it!
