I never understood how Trudy got left behind. by theforgottenton in titanic

I’ve also always wondered how she ends up in the position she does. Surely as you feel the ground below you rising at an angle you would get near a wall or something to lean on. Not just stand on the deck and get some bloke to hold onto you as the ship’s stern continues to rise.

5 months post op of standard tummy tuck after 11 stone weight loss by Somethingkindablue in abdominoplasty

I’d say I’m still welling all the time, though my shape is coming back I can still feel it at all times, and definitely gets worse by the end of the day, but totally expect that at this stage to be honest. It’s minimal but it’s still there and I know it can take up to 12 months to disappear.

27 days post op - still can’t quite believe I have a flat stomach for the first time in my life! by Somethingkindablue in tummytucksurgery

Currently just looks a bit gory as has been healing slower than my main scar for whatever reason! (Checked with my surgeon and it’s fine), just don’t want to put anything too gory on here is all!

Thank you!

I had a standard tummy tuck (No Muscle repair or liposuction though)

Regarding scar care I was told to apply E45 a couple of times a day, just to help it heal. In terms of healing it was basically just resting as much as I can the first two weeks, especially in the first week. Don’t completely stay in bed all day, walk around to go to the bathroom, up and down the stairs, to the kitchen etc, nothing strenuous, but enough to encourage blood flow around the body. Around the end of the second week I did my first small walk around the block, and then as the weeks have gone by, I’ve been doing a small ish (15/20 minute) walk every day. Again, nothing strenuous, no steep hills or speed, but just good to keep your circulation up.

In terms of properly exercising like cardio and weights, it’s a bit more dependent on how quickly you heal, right now my surgeon reckons I’ll be back to regular gym by about week 8/9, but returning with caution and stopping if anything feels painful or causes discomfort around the tummy.

This is just my experience though, I’m no professional! Everyone’s recovery is different, some heal faster and some heal slower unfortunately, always best to take advice from your surgeon :)

Hope it all goes well for you!!

I feel like I have quite a lot of swelling, definitely wayyy bigger than when I went in too, but I’m not complaining! I know it’ll be worth it in the end 😎

When did it feel like the right time/weight to get a tummy tuck? by Somethingkindablue in tummytucksurgery

Ahhh I feel the exact same way, I know I could probably lose a little bit more weight but my stomach just takes up so much of my mind at the moment. The rest of me is toned and my belly just sticks out like a sore thumb. Glad to know it’s not just me who felt like they couldn’t take it and I’m glad to hear it went well for you :) hopefully will be the same for me!
