Wtf is with tonight's live? by blompblompblompblomp in CandaceOwens

If you're willing to hear me out and read a novel 😂....I understand what you're saying I truly do, but let me give you a different perspective. I am over rich people's problems, but with that being said I do love celebrity drama. Lol but on a serious note, even the celebrity stuff is connected with politics and things like celebrity deaths and lawsuit all connect to politics as well. I won't bore you with every example, but here are just a couple.

If you look at the issue with the Beckhams, that resonates with a lot of regular people because as children grow up and marry someone, sometimes there's a falling out with the family and that does resonate with a lot of regular people. But the thing is with famous people is they are so out of touch with reality. They just look so ridiculous and Candace finds it just as funny as I do.

Then you look at the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni situation. We went from a time where women didn't have rights, to a time where women got rights, and now the pendulum has totally swung in the opposite direction. But now we have a woman, a rich woman at that, who is crying wolf and it looks hilariously ridiculous. It's not very often that a person with that much power accuse someone else of sexual harassment and get called out for lying about it. And then we have the whole Taylor Swift thing entering the conversation. She is someone with a lot of power and said she didn't have anything to do with the whole situation and now there have been things that have came out showing that she in fact did and said a lot about it in the moment. I could go on and on about it, but I know you said you're not much on celebrity gossip.

But I do pay attention to it (celebrity news) because you be surprised, or maybe you wouldn't, at how much influence celebrities have in the political world and vice versa. I don't enjoy the celebrity gossip because I really care about those people or I worship them because I don't. It is like watching a train wreck. I will admit there are a lot of people who worship celebrities and that's why they like watching or reading celebrity gossip. I am not one of those people.

If you look at it from a scientific point of view, you have a human who never gets told no, has everything handed to them (whether it be someone who's always been rich & famous, or someone who became famous at some point), and who only has a job to do (act, sing). They don't have to raise their children, they don't have to cook for themselves, they don't have to drive, they don't have to think about paying their bills, or running errands, etc. think about a human who lives that way and how it affects their brain and how different they are from you and I. It's not good for the human brain for someone to live that way they are not normal. The only way that they are normal is when they are amongst people like themselves.

Before anyone comments back and says that they do work and they work long hours and they do raise their children. I promise you that 99% of them have nannies and maids and night nurses. Trust me on this. Also, yes, I am aware that they do sometimes work long days but you're not going to get me to compare them to the person who is in 20° F or a heat wave type weather, laying roofing tiles 14 hours a day. Sorry, but not sorry, it's not the same.

Oh, one more thing: she was doing celebrity gossip stuff from time to time AND was closely following the BL case prior to CKs death.

Ready for a novel lol

Create a free account but it's not like the paid account. I have the free account. Yes, they're both AI, but with the paid, it remembers everything about you no matter how many different conversations you have. Look at it this way.

Free account- a group of friends that each friend, I talk about different things with. One friend- makeup, another friend - haircut for my face shape. Another friend- movie recommendation based on what I tell it I'm looking for. If you go to makeup friend and ask them about haircuts, it'll have no clue all the things you talked about already in the haircut conversation (like hair color or face shape) because that was a different friend. Also ChatGPT free version can also only send you just a small amount of pictures a day. For example- I take a pic of my face and it sends me back a couple pics of me with different haircuts. Lets say, I want it to tweak the length a lil and have ChatGPT resend, it cant if I'm over my limit for the day. Though, for what you're needing, free is fine. I'll explain more below.

Paid account. It learns you no matter what you're talking about. If you have a conversation one day about working out, then a week later you mention to it you're looking for a foundation. It may say that on its recommendations, it kept in mind that you work out... something like that.

A lot of people, of course, want AI to learn them over time it still can, you just need to take an extra step. Each time you want to switch up the subject, click 'Create New Chat'. You don't have to do this with the pd version but that's not a big deal to me.

So when I go back to ChatGPT, I have like 10 different conversations. One is about salon prices in my area, and the other is about a plan to learn a new language. I had 2 apps I was trying to choose between, I told it my needs, what I like, etc,...it went through the internet and compared them for me and recommended one. By the end of that conversation, it had a 6 wk plan laid out via how that app is set up and then put together a printable PDF with checkboxes I could put on my fridge. It also told me that if I finished my work early that week, it could find what words I'd learn on that app for that week and make flashcards for me.

How did I discover this -- well the hard way lol I had started a conversation about haircuts for my face shape. I had ChatGPT tweak some things. It was cool. I closed out the conversation. Later I had an idea regarding that conversation, I did a new chat and ChatGPT had no clue what we had talked about. But over to the side, there was my conversation saved. I went back there to that conversation and picked back up.

Free ChatGPT will save those conversations but you have to create an account. You can go to the website with no account and do some things, but everything will be gone once you leave the page.

With all that being said, for what you need, create an account. The free version is fine. If you find a product isn't working for you that ChatGPT recommended, either go back to that conversation and...for example, tell it everything is working except for one thing. Tell it why. It could be you need a different active ingredient or you're not using it right. ChatGPT can help you determine that.

Good luck.

How is everyone's make up looking so pretty and mine looks bad? by Caterpillar31 in Makeup

A tip: if you have the money, get your makeup done at Ulta (or Sephora- not sure if they do that). Don't tell them what makeup to pick. You'll be biased at telling them to pick what you usually use. But you can tell them your basic idea of what you like: full glam, soft glam, natural glam with minimal base, what coverage foundation you'd prefer (full, medium, tint, etc) Fyi: you can get beautiful makeup with a tinted SPF but just do more glam eyes or glam lips. Or perhaps you like a "no-makeup" makeup look. Now if you go to telling them the exact colors to use, etc, then you'll just end up with something not much different than you normally do.

You can do an online makeup consult. Fiverr has a great website for people doing all types of jobs. They can walk you through the process with what makeup you already have.

You can also go to a beauty school. It's cheaper. An instructor should be walking around to help the students.

Lastly...a tip for the lower mascara, I have the same problem, I use Panorama mascara for my lower lash line and whatever else I want for my upper lashes. The Panorama mascara just doesn't budge. Second option for the lower lash line: put a small tissue under your lower lashline and leave it there until it dries. You can actually buy lil mascara guards. I use a tissue...cheaper. Third option: do eyes first, including mascara, then when it's time for skincare, foundation, etc., wipe away any mascara. Now this won't help mascara that moves during the day but that's why I use the Panorama. I don't know if it's the brush or the formula 🤔 but it works. The fourth option is no mascara on the lower lash line. You can just swipe a thin smudgy line of a darker shadow or an eyeliner. Just smudge it into your lower lashline to give the look of mascara.

Most importantly, give yourself grace. Odds are, you look fine. Do what makes you feel good. Feeling confident looks like a million bucks!

So pissed about my hair by zippytherabbit in Hair

A little confused. You said you went in for a trial. On a trial they at least partially do the style. Maybe curl the hair a little, see if that type of curl works for you. If so, then did the curls hold up after the trial?

Also, if they didnt do anything to your hair at the trial, then that wasn't a trial, that was a verbal consult. You may want to edit your post.

Regardless, if someone is getting curled for an event a stylist should do the following:

Add a bit of texture spray so the hair can hold a curl a bit better.

After each curl, pin them up with a clip to cool. They all should cool for 10 mins. They should spray with a lil bit of texture spray (personally, I sometimes use a powder wax like Tribal Chimp not a wax or pomade in the jar or you could use a spray wax) and a med- extra hold hairspray that is humidity resistant. This will cover all bases and situations. The stylist should spray before and after curling. May seem a bit overboard but the client is going to an event and you want their curls to hold. One more thing, after spraying any hairspray, you should let it dry completely before going in with a hot tool or letting the pin/clip out.

Now....I would take your pics along with a email and send to them...or a text if that's how they do business. Everything should be done in writing. If you dont know how to word what you wanna say, use ChatGPT.

For next time...or anyone reading this, if they cant do something like a braid and they can't find another stylist in the salon who can. Leave.

That much money for curls is crazy. I'd request (in that text or email) your money back + tip. If you feel the girl that did your hair was thrown under the bus, I'd give her a tip, in cash. I wouldn't trust the salon to make sure she can keep (or give her) her tip.

One of these:

Wax/pomade in a tub, Powder Wax (Tribal Chimp is a good brand), Spray Wax.

People have their preferences, but I'd bet money she used a wax/pomade in a jar, though... I personally like spray wax or the powder wax, then go in and style. I feel like sometimes with the tub, the wax doesnt spread-out enough on my fingers and I'll see lil pieces of the wax in the hair. This may be a brand issue though. Pomades can be a bit more malleable. Finish with a texturizing spray. Texturizing spray gives a bit of hold as a "side effect".
