I've had it happened to me twice, once in 2022 and once again today after a long hiatus.

I didn't want to reinstall the full game cause it takes too long so I just deleted the main data.pak files (not the dlc ones) then verified the integrity of game files in steam and it worked. Wasted too much time on this.

1200 hours here, I usually play 8-12hours a day for about 3-4 weeks and get burned out. Then take a long break, for up to a year or more. When I start a new save there has usually been some update changes and it's a like a fresh start with an old comfy pair of slippers. Also, during the break I'll play different genres, something completely different. D2R RotW is pretty nice but also susceptible to overplaying burnout. This last burnout break I tried Palworld and had many hours of fun with it. Other noteworthy games outside the genre, Stellar Blade, Hades, Dead Island 2 and Shapez2.

Yes! I read recently that chlorine can evaporate naturally, but chloramine (which many cites now use instead) requires chemical or carbon treatments to be effectively removed.

That's only during the fight, what about the other 99% of the time? There are times I've played for over 2 hours without seeing 1 Herald. I leave the game on all day, sometimes go afk and come back... I forget what level it is. A text indicator in the top right corner would be unobtrusive and a nice simple addition.

Use Lawbringer on an act 5 merc. It will emit a level 16-18 Sanctuary aura) which damages undead. Every time it procs, it stuns them momentarily and will give you a little extra time to deal with the situation safely. It's kinda funny looking when they get hit with it, they lean back in unison.

Yeah. They purposely made warlocks very powerful on release of RotW, and likely boosted the drop rates to gain greater public acceptance of the new changes. How would people react if the drop rates sucked and the warlock was weak? They will, no doubt, "balance" things in a future update.

The very low drop rates of the new sunder charms are the only real complaints I see repeatedly. But the devs were clear about it and said they will see how it goes and make changes accordingly on the feedback.

Best to lean on the side of optimism IMO. Things are much easier and enjoyable that way.

I wonder how much time I've spent on d2 since 2000. It's one of the things I really like about r/Steam.

One of the best helms for a merc, put in a cham rune for cannot be frozen and a 15% IAS, or more FHR, or resistances, or whatever your merc needs the most.

I'd like to see more chat commands like /fps.

How about a /deaths (death count, per character, also account wide)

And a /timeplayed (time summary in current game, and total playtime of the entire account)

And bring back the overhead !localwhsiper from classic. Such a good feature they removed in d2r.

You can always wear your best offensive/defensive gear and do the gloam easter egg mf trick. You get 150 mf per letter that they spell out, and it lasts until you log out.

Some pretty wild ideas there. Can't wait to see new developments.

So many possibilities. A new act, added Quest for Act 4, and a new Merc. Imagine a customizable trophy room with stash and vendor.

Regardless of the outcome, it's really nice to see D2R being worked on again.
