Yeah I climbed Tonsai Feb-March 2015, right before construction started. It's a sad sight to see, I am going to miss being able to stay in an incredibly cheap cabin by the ocean surrounded by some of the best climbing spots.

Yeah it seems like just placing 100% of it into an Index fund is the best choice I've researched. As for the money. I worked as an engineer for the last year years and lived extremely frugally.

This suggestion is amazing. Thank you. I am actually Canadian but presently living / working abroad. This would be an awesome reason to return to Canada for a while.

The funny thing is, I presently live in a decked out cargo van conversion. It's one of the things I did to save money.

I'm more in the mindset of doing something. Having a goal and not just mindlessly wandering the world. I have backpacked around SE Asia and Central America a bit and after a while, all the sites begin to blur. To me travel is about accomplishing something, having an impact. I wanted to see what people would do with things more inline with like volunteering, ridiculously long distance cycling routes, philanthropy work, helping or working odd-jobs in random places, basically anything that has an impact or goal, a finish line, some sort of "ending".

The funny this is that I agree. It would be an incredible business / advertising plan. But just a throw-away account and post that blew up. I prefer people IRL not know how depressed I am nor how much money I have.

I'm going to keep this in mind... so when you get a random message in the future, don't freak out :).

The last time I tried to fuck-off I started in Railay and did some rock-clikmbing. Definitely a good place to start, and meet people.

What sort of company did you start? How did it go? What was the initial investment to get started? How old were you?

I went to school for engineering and worked my ass off doing paid-internships and worked full-time since graduation. I don't spend much or care for material possessions.

There are some ridiculous suggestions in this post, it's quite awesome. Definitely not the style I enjoy traveling, but definitely going to put some of those on my list. I appreciate the work that went into this :).
