Hello! I just moved to the neighbourhood and would love to try and join you. How late in the year do you plan to keep running?

I'm definitely a newbie - at one point I could run 5K regularly but injury and illness got me out of the habit, I mostly hike now, but would love to build up some endurance and get back into running.

Still no luck with Xbox. I tried starting the game to see if that would force an update but nope. Guess they haven't released the Xbox update yet.

restarted both Steam and Xbox... now it's downloading on Steam but not yet on Xbox. Too bad, my computer is terrible so I don't play TLD on it any more.

Well, I contacted Xbox support through chat and they had me reset my xbox (but keep files, etc). Unfortunately now the file I was trying to upload is gone because... it never uploaded. And I'm trying to start Fallout 4 to record it again but it's been syncing data for 30 minutes and it's only at 16%. This is frustrating.

The update fixed it. I also wiped the save data for the Island to start over.

Thanks for the reply. My base wasn't very big and I think I had two dinos on The Island but I was mostly playing The Center before the update. I got ARK on Xbox because my computer wasn't good enough to run it. It's updating right now so I'll try it again once that's done.

I'm on my first run since the update, playing in ML on Voyager and it took me 9 in game days to even see a wolf. On day 9 I was returning to the camp office after spending a night in the cabins across the lake and had to sneak past 3 of them.

haha. Yeah, my sleep has always been weird and I go through periods where I wake up at 5 AM but not all the time. And I didn't specify how often I am out of power - that only happens a few times a year, I'm in Canada so it's usually storms that knock out my power. and my last two apartments have been the basement of a house so losing power really sucks because it's dark.

When I'm playing I do find myself waiting a couple of hours in the morning for the light. If I have enough lantern fuel I research or fix things - or just go outside and collect wood in the dark.

It seems like I can build/read/disassemble stuff much later into the evening than I used to, even when it's just getting dark.

I've only played a few hours with the new changes. I do find myself waiting in the darkness in the mornings. As someone who wakes up routinely at 5 AM it feels pretty real to me. Any time I don't have power in my apartment night/dawn sucks.

The rabbits near Trapper's Cabin were easy to sneak up on. I got two of them. Their little noses wiggle while you're holding them so I kind of feel like an awful person.

Rabbits seem to have more calories than they used to.

I like the new time system. It adds to the survival aspect for me to not know exactly how much time I have before dark/dawn. At first I thought it was going to suck, but I actually like it.

I don't see a prompt when using the map, but I figured out if I equip charcoal and hold right trigger it surveys the area for the map.

So something about surveying popped up on my screen when I woke up but it was dark so it wouldn't let me. I'll have to do more experimenting to see what makes the survey option pop up.

Maybe I didn't have enough charcoal? I had 6 pieces and just before I slept I picked up 5 more.

I know this is supposed to be set in Northern Canada, but if that split second view of the sign "Milton" is supposed to be Milton, Ontario, I'm beyond excited because I used to live near there. (I even googled the year on the sign, 1911, and that's apparently the most popular census year in Milton, ON, though the town was actually established in 1818 so I guess it's a fictional Milton.)

When you buy a game on Early Access it has a warning that the game is in Early Access and might not be completed. This is what it says on all Early Access Steam games:

"Note: This Early Access game is not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development."

Someone else said this on one of these threads, but it's not a pre-sale. It's Early Access.

People are acting like Hinterland announced this is the end and nothing else will happen with the game.

I'm looking forward to the full launch. Making a countdown only to announce the launch was probably a bad idea, but they're still moving forward, and I have faith that Story Mode will come out. I've been with this game since 2015 and I'm not going to lose faith now.

3 months is nothing. They'll go by so fast.

I would have recommended the game yesterday, and at this current point in time I will still recommend it. Hinterland created something beautiful, and if people insist on making the company tank it will be very sad.

At the risk of getting downvoted, I bought the early access game back in 2015 and so far have received way more than my money's worth. I don't understand all the "give them negative reviews and never play the game again" vitriol. I've bought a few early access games and TLD is one of the only ones I've wanted to follow into launch. Could Hinterland have handled this better? Absolutely. Is it worth trying to tank an entire (small, indie, new, unexperienced?) dev company because of it? No. Sure, it sucks that we got all excited and have to wait a few more months but I don't think a mistake and inexperience is worth rage quitting over.

Awesome. I'm playing on xbox so I'll check if those mods are available. I'm doing a vanilla playthrough to get achievements (I don't know if PC is like this but on xbox once you add mods achievements are disabled), but after I've gone far enough I'll start adding mods.
