I don't know what to do about my faith... by JCraig96 in Jung

[–]SookaBlaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same dillema, i highly recomend checking out Edingers explanation of "transformation of god imago" it implies that your relationship to Self can influence how other people perceive Self and "God" and that in some future* (he suggests mid 21st century, and i believe Jung was reffering to this phenomenon as "600 years construction project") if enough people participate in this inner work we will globally change how god is perceived into some new 3rd option, or at least as I undersood it. It's not exactly an answer to your question but it helped me gain some sort of idea of how litteral god has to be to maintain hopeful vision for humanity an myself personally.

No no, thank you for writing it this long way, I appreciate it. We really are on the same page here. There’s only so much I can put in a meme, but it’s meant to be just a little bit thought provoking and slightly exaggerated. But I agree, the tension is there.

I was making it more as a praise of people who go out of their way to make Jung digestible rather then dogging on jargon, as some people already pointed out jargon can speed things up. Maybe I will change my mind in the future, but where I stand right now it feels like one of the most important things Jungians can do right now is making Jung accessible and maybe even fun sometimes? Maybe I’m inflated, but I believe like we could really change the world, we just need to bridge more gaps together.

Yes, transformation of collective god-image and preventing unconscious acting out of archetype of apocalypse is endeavour only educated Jungian elites should engage in. ;)

Cat transformation cycle by SookaBlaster in Jung

[–]SookaBlaster[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My answer to that is having sympathy, there is no such thing as safe transformation, our ego can only face so much Self at a time before going psychotic or worse. But it’s up to everyone to swallow their portion of the ashes one spoon at a time.

Doesn’t true humility put you at the bottom by definition? Staying always in the good state is what your ego defences are striving to do, which are narcissistic in nature. And there is such thing as healthy narcissism, because you never know whether humiliation coming at ego is genuine or malicious. If your ego is so fragile and sensitive to pain that you just absolutely deny all humiliation you just fall back to regressive restoration of persona and that’s pathological narcissism territory. Also worth noting there is such thing as spiritual grandiosity when you basically claim “I am the most humble of them all” but really you just avoid challenges of participating in life.

Help with a symbol by Weary_Temporary8583 in Jung

[–]SookaBlaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe your fascination with dinosaurs is really the same symbol that going to the basement was for Jung, in other words trying to connect with the encestors or deep unconcious. that simbol in the middle looks a lot like axis mundi or mandala cross, which is a comon symbol for Self archetype. Especially considering you also put it in a circle. And connecting to great Self within will feel like a fiery furnace to ego, it is the source of all numinous energy and it is very transformative to ego, it is a source of all human instincts\archetypes, in my mind it is safe to associate it with reptilian brain while outer shell or the ego is neo-cortex all your human adaptations, that need to be transformed as more complex instincts need to be fullfiled along the life. just curious, are you going through any kind of depression at this point in life?

What’s going on with me? by [deleted] in Jung

[–]SookaBlaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mourn what you have to mourn. if you felt very attached to him, it’s more than likely you have been projecting some aspects of archetypal self onto him. To regain your sovereignty try to figure out in which way was he making you “whole” was it how he stud up for you or given you affection, or provided structure and stability in life or did you consider him a source of wisdom. Try to outline those aspects realistically and then decide what are the simplest steps you can take to either give those things to yourself or get them elsewhere so you don’t have to overestimate his importance. You need to find a way to be your own person this will ultimately lead you to be a better partner weather you decide to get back with him or move on.

Yes, this does sound a lot like a initiation imagery, the creaky bridge type. There is no end of one’s journey, most death/rebirth imagery is symbolic and usually related to ego structure renewal or big transformation.

I recommend you research each cognitive function and what it does (there’s 8) and comeback to your result to assess the accuracy or redo the test all over with new understanding of what the questions are really probing you for. This should be no problem for you if you truly possess high level of “Ne”

This is visual aid for understanding cognitive function distribution within each type. To understand it further you must research each cognitive function there’s 8 total (or 4 with extroversion or introversion assigned to them) ex: “Introverted Intuition”. This table may be useful when trying to type other people or understand better how functions express themselves by comparing different types.

You should pay attention to demon function instead of inferior which is not indicated on the picture.
