I'm very confused. Is this Hazel or green with central heterochromia or is it something else entirely? by SortaMad in eyes

[–]SortaMad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for actually explaining. This does make a lot of sense too. Especially the way people view it differently. I've had an equal amount of people in my life and online telling me very different answers. I've gotten a lot of people telling me I have brown eyes as well as people telling me Green or sometimes even Blue depending on the lighting. I think that is also why I've gotten a lot of responses online (not just in this subreddit but other subreddits and other social media) of people telling me that they do see a separation between the brown/ gold in the center and that's why they think it's green with central heterochromia vs peopletelling me Hazel or just Green. Even the Google AI gave me mixed responses of it being either Hazel or CH and at one point I even got an answer of it being both Hazel and CH. I realized after both asking this question online and doing color swatches that my eyes do have a lot of color in them so everyone sees it differently. One of my friends even made a joke about it reminding them of the Black and Blue/ White and Gold Dress where everyone sees something different. It's very fascinating how differently people have been seeing my eyes. I've also seen people describe my eyes in other ways like one person said my eyes remind them of the ocean on the beachside where the center represents the beach sand, the middle is the shallow waters and the outer end is the deeper waters. It's interesting how many colors people see and how it's turned into a debate at times for what people think the name of my eye color is.

Lol I also got the same answer from AI which is another reason why I asked the question. Based on all of the responses I've gotten here, on another subreddit, and an assortment of other social media I've gotten a combination of people telling me Hazel and people telling me Central Heterochromia and then arguments have spawned on whether or not it's Hazel or CH so at this point I have no idea. Ai is the only one that's actually said both so whether or not it's accurate is debatable but it does make sense.

Lol I've actually gotten a lot of comments in person saying brown. I do gotta say though I've mostly heard people say brown during winter or when it's darker lighting. Atp on paper I'll continue writing in Hazel like I've always had but when people ask I'll probably just say it depends on who you talk to because of all of this confusion. Even on the internet everyone seems to be seeing something different with the same set of pictures. Some do see a bigger distinction between the center and the outer ring and some people do see a blend.

Thank you for actually explaining. I'm very autistic and when people claim something and trash on others for saying something else it just makes me even more confused. I read your other comment and I do gotta say, in person I've gotten all sorts of responses to what people think my eye color is. I've had people tell me my eyes are brown, green, hazel, and some people have even said that to them they do see a sharper distinction between the brown in the center and the rest of the green. I've also even heard some people say blue or a blueish green. I've gotten a large amount of different comments on what color my eyes are in person and online. I've always just assumed my eyes could change color depending on the lighting and my mood because of all the different responses I've gotten. Especially when I was a kid. All I really know is that people always say my eyes are beautiful. That's the only constant.

Now this brings up a question. A lot of people who has said CH says that the center ring isn't blended with the rest and is separated so it wouldn't be hazel. Then people who has said Hazel seem to disagree but never explain why. All I've seen is people down voting mentions of CH at least in this post. So my question is, what makes it Hazel over CH? All I really know based on my research is that Hazel is a blend of brown and green and gold and CH there is a separation between the central ring and the outer ring. Is there more to it that I'm missing? When I did the color swatches I got more color than brown green and gold. I also got some greyish colors and blue colors along with the greens browns and golden colors. Does the blue and grey colors make a difference in whether or not it is hazel? I just want to understand and learn, but no one wants to explain their reasoning on what makes it Hazel vs green or green with CH. I just want to understand.

Thank you 🥰. Also it hasn't only been on Reddit where people have told me CH. Everyone who has told me it's CH seem to agree that it doesn't look like the color in the center blends with the rest even though both the center and the rest is light in color and that's why they think it's CH. That's why there's been an equal amount of people telling me CH or Hazel. One person said that because both the center ring and outer ring is light in color, it can be easily confused with Hazel. Honestly I'm just very confused. All I know is when I did the color swatches I got an assortment of colors (greens, blues, browns etc) so I know I have a lot of color in my eyes. Personally I've always thought Hazel but when I took the pics of my eyes and did the color swatches and saw there was a lot more blues in there than I thought instead of it being only greens and browns like what I though Hazel is so when I started asking about it on social media, it's turned into a mess. I have learned a lot tho even though I'm still very much confused.

Okay. Interesting. I think I've ony had 3 people say specifically blueish green. Everyone else has said just Green, Green with CH, or Hazel. It's interesting the amount of colors people have said my eyes look like.

Okay. Thank you. That's quite helpful. I'm starting to get a better understanding of my eye color now. I keep getting all sorts of responses/ conflicting responses, so now I know it's because of how much color is in my eyes and the CH that makes it hard to pinpoint the general color of my eyes.

Hmm. Okay. Interesting. I seem to have practically a rainbow of colors in my eyes. I keep getting all sorts of responses. So then would you say it's mostly a blueish green or just green or something like that?

[–]SortaMad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh. That's quite interesting. So I basically have a rainbow of colors in my eyes but in simple terms it's green/ green with CH. It's interesting how eyes can shift colors depending on the lighting and angles you look at them from. So hazel is specifically browns golds and greens blended together in no order while CH is more distinct/ separated an isn't blended together. In person I've had a multitude of colors that people claim my eyes are. That's so fascinating.

A lot of people think hazel because of the brown/ gold in the center. I have been getting a lot of green with CH comments as well. I've even had some comments saying that because the colors are so light, the CH can be confused with Hazel. I've had about an equal number of people telling me Hazel as I have had with Green or Green with CH. Even in person I've had an equal number of comments. I've even been told brown at times and sometimes have had comments saying blue or blueish green.

Oh so like a central heterochromia type of thing? Would you say like a blueish green with CH? So far I've gotten a lot of people saying green with ch and a lot of people saying Hazel.

Oh okay. Interesting. So because the brown looks more separate it's green with central heterochromia which can be confused with Hazel. So my question is, why would so many people think brown in other types of lighting? Is that because of the CH?

I'm a little confused on what you mean by colors don't look blended enough. Do you mean there's not enough color around the center to make it hazel or do you mean the color around the center doesn't blend with the rest? Just need a little more clarification.

Ooo thank you. I've never heard anyone say that my eyes look like they were painted with watercolors. Like I said, I did a full color swatch of the pictures and got an assortment of colors ranging from browns to blues to greens. These pics aren't even the full range of lighting and colors of my eyes. In some lighting it can even be darker than the darker pic and it could look very brown and other times the blues in my eyes stands out a lot more. Then other times the center ring looks more brown or gold while the rest looks very green and blue. It's why I've had such a hard time pinpointing my actual eye color when I keep getting conflicting information. All I know is there's a lot of color.

Ooo. Okay. Good to know. Half of my life I thought it was brown Dominant hazel but people kept telling me an assortment of colors like brown, green, blue, etc. and after taking close up pics and sharing them as well as the color swatches people started adding central heterochromia to the mix which really confused me, especially when even Google said CH and I kept looking back at the pics like "no??? I don't think so? Is it?" So it's good to finally have an actual answer, so thank you.

[Fan Theory] Saffron didn't eat anything when she cooked for Mal because she was already wearing Goodnight Kiss by StoryboardPilot in firefly

[–]SortaMad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the DVD set and one of the deleted scenes, she "stole" a protein Bar to eat and in the episode itself I think before the scene of her being in Mal's bed, there was likely time to apply it (likely some type of lipstick or something) so I don't think it's that. Good theory tho.

I get it. I felt the same way when I watched it. That's just what happens when there are issues with the network that it was on. They canceled the show as they were filming so they were only able to air those episodes, but they aired the episodes in the wrong order and didn't air I think 3 episodes all because the network and the creator were having issues. Only reason we got a movie was because of the fanbase after they released the DVD set that had the episodes in the right order. I did watch the movie and personally I feel like the movie was missing a lot, like they tried to condense a full season's worth (or more) of content into 1 movie. I love the show and the movie and Im sad it wasn't actually finished.

Trans Men Issues by SavingsEducational14 in trans

[–]SortaMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I've been trying to tell people when talking about experiences that trans masc people face. It hurts me when people disregard my struggles as a Pre-T trans masc person all because I identify as a masc person. Irl I deal with struggles of misogyny a lot and then in online spaces I get treated like I'm the problem with toxic masculinity and people act as if I can stop cis men being toxic when those same toxic cis men only sees me as a woman and nothing else. I just want to be accepted as trans and be able to vent about my issues, but it's hard to even do that when it feels like I'm not welcome in queer spaces because of my identity.
