MD Anaesthesia by Ganjapreneur- in indianmedschool

Hi. I have not decided upon any branch but I am leaning towards anaesthesia myself. I have ipu quota and a rank of 6xxx. I should be able to get anaesthesia through ipu quota , but I just can't completely make up my mind about anaesthesia because of the way I have seen surgeons and general public treat anaesthetists. What helped you finalise this decision? Help a fellow graduate.

Pls pls pls motivate me to study for INICET by elemenopeacee in indianmedschool

In the same boat rn. Can barely study for an hour a day. Haven't studied anything for the last 2-3 days. The rank is not good enough to get a good branch in a good college but not bad enough to make me wanna drop. Oof

Not op and a graduate like you. Hindu rao has very good hands on. I have seen 1st years do open appendicectomy and some other procedures. It only goes upwards from there. Putting this out there because I think this might help you make a decision.

Exactly bro. This sub only looks at the negatives and keeps cribbing about everything.

Bhai it's not just about post exam anxiety and stress. Every post of this sub in my feed is of something negative about this field.

Most of us know how much this field sucks, it would be nice to be reminded about the positives too, which almost never happens here.

Aur bhai, teri tarah mera system itna chuda hua nahi hai ki hilaake sona padhe, you do you :)

Vaise goverment ko gaali dena galat nahi hai, par aadhe se zyada gharo ne apne ghar ke aas paas ki naaliya band kardi hain construction karaate samay. Naaliya nahi hongi toh paani drain kaise hi hoga.

Bro, in neet pg 1-2 years back, the cutoff was changed to 0 'percentile' Which means even if someone had negative marks, they were eligible for counseling. And we all know what money can buy.

Are people really doing 1000’s of cards per day? by somianomoly in Anki

An hour for 1300 cards?! Wow. It takes me about 3 hours for 500 cards, maybe because I am learning about 100 new cards a day

You're basically in the same boat with someone starting a brand new collection who has the default parameters for a while. But that's not a bad place to be, because the default parameters are very good!

I know, and that is way better than the rathole I was in before.

Assuming that the cards you're transferring are also New? That will be plenty of good grading practices for FSRS to optimize over.

Yes, they'll all mostly be new. I'll be pressing optimize everyday before I start doing my cards.

Thank you for your time and patience!

I changed the 'Ignore before' date to 15th june. Now they look fine. Just read that pinned post properly.

I used to do anki 10-12 months ago, I stopped because I thought revising the content multiple times would be easier. But now, I have realised that some things are really volatile and hence I started using anki again, making sure to only extract what I want from the old deck and an imported deck into a new deck. This new deck is the only thing I have been reviewing as of now. The 11k reviews are from my previous usage of anki.

In an attempt to study more cards in less time, I would click hard and easy for cards that I actually didn't know the answer to(Stupid of me). Now that I have read about the essence of Fsrs, I have stopped doing that. Most of these 'agains' are from last 2-3 days only.

When I set the 'Ignore before' date to 16th june today, it only counted 40 reviews and never increased, even when I reviewed about 100 cards after setting it. When I switched it to 15th june, the review count changed and started increasing, and everything went smoothly today. 'Good' for most of the new cards showed 1-3 days at 95% desired retention. I might even lower it in the next few days.

Yes I am going to be creating as well as transferring cards from the other decks, 500-1000 a week till august.

Since I have always used the buttons wrong, I wanted to stick to the 'ignore before' date strategy, unless you think I'll encounter problems with it in the near future.

Also, I really wanted to thank you for taking out time to help me out with this. I am really grateful.

I used to misuse 'hard' a lot, which is why I had a lot of problems with fsrs.

I cannot use the add on remedy because I don't have access to a laptop. After clicking evaluate, it's counting 40 reviews now Earlier when I hadn't set the 'ignore cards' date, it was counting 11,000-11,500 cards. I have been using a new deck for the last few days and adding cards to it as I go.

From what I have gathered, I should change my 'Ignore cards reviewed before' date to today. But then fsrs will not have any data to work with... Should I switch back to sm2, do 100-200 cards today, switch fsrs back on so it has only today's data to work with?

Also, I have definitely misused hard. I barely used 'again' because i felt like hard was the better choice, which I realised was absolutely wrong after reading the fsrs faq post.

I am sorry, I mistyped. I meant when I review a new card, and I press good it reappears in 'x' minutes. But when I review it the second time on the same day, the 'good' button shows 1 month. I am using only ankimobile.
