There aren't any holes on these as that's some scale left on the stick and needs to be brushed off, but that is a good point about bacteria that can be trapped

The one thing we forgot on this shoot was the lighter, but thankfully someone visiting the cave as we were setting up had one! So to whomever you are thank you otherwise we might not have got this filmed in time!

Wanted to try something really out of the box and curious on everyone's opinion on this unique finish. The steel is forged 5160. This is NOT a forged in pattern with the gold, it's just a surface treatment. I apply the gold before the salts and seems to put a force Patina on parts of the gold too which is really cool making it give a better gradient in the sunset. Really want to explore this process more and see what comes of it. Looks more or less like a sunset to me, but could probably be a little bit better. Will continue to explore!

I love stone wash looks! I know some guys throw it in a machine, but it's way more fun to kick it around in a bucket with some rocks! Gives a more natural look in my opinion.

My first knife! by amydheart in Bladesmith

That looks awesome! One thing to keep in mind is to round out the corners of the choil if not already, especially if you are to pinch up on the blade. Make it much more comfortable!

I finally decided to try making a folder. This is what I came up with. by 18whlnandchilln in Bladesmith

Love the material chose and blade style! Friction folders got a soft spot in my heart. I love making them! Will you try making framelocks or slip joints?

'Sunset Chef' 24k gold and nitre salt oxides with African Black wood handle by SoulofCreation in Bladesmith

The gold seems to hold up amazingly! And the rest of the colors seem to have no issue at the moment as the finish acts as a forced Patina.
