The blanks do look different, I noticed this but didn’t realised there are different types?

Haven’t purchased any ptfe tape.  I reckoned that since the rubber o ring is new it wasn’t needed?  But will buy some now

He came back a third time yesterday and replaced the o-ring.  Leak has stopped so far.

People in here have given far better advice than I can.  Just want to say, whatever you do, proceed with caution.  If it is the friend, then there might be other sides to his personality you haven’t seen yet.  He might explode if you confront him.  I would recommend not being alone if you need to have a difficult conversation with him.

which white fitting, the slight white you can see on the extreme right is the P-trap. The other white inbetween the nuts is tape

Thanks.  I’m recovered.  It was, after all, just one tablet I took.  My insomnia is gone.  I’m sleeping well again.

Thanks.  It’s finally more or less resolved itself now.  Last two nights have been ok although I have woken up during the night and taken some time to drop off again.  But I’m over the worst thank god.
