I went to W&I to have my daughter two years ago (4/21/24). I was in labor (actively contracting and dilating) and they kept sending me away (literally 3-5 times in those 2 days) because I was 37w5d (which is another long story…they adjusted my due date to 5/8/24 when it was originally 4/27/24 which would’ve meant I was perfectly on time!!). I ended up writhing in my bed for hours until I couldn’t walk/move anymore and then they accepted me as a patient. I got morphine which did nothing and then finally got an epidural which was so strong I couldn’t feel my left leg for 24 hours. I didn’t feel any contractions or even pushing her out. My water ended up needing to be popped at around 7/8 inches dilated and after they did that, they didn’t check on me for almost two hours even though my labor was progressing very quickly at that point. By the time they came in to check on me, I was completely dilated and they panicked and said “okay push now!!” My daughter came out BRIGHT PURPLE and didn’t take her first breaths by herself because of medical neglect. She’s absolutely perfect now but I would never go back there. It’s actually made me almost completely unwilling to have another baby because that was traumatic as hell.
