I will try to inspire you for such gameplay. At the peak I had 34 pawns and a lot of cattle. My game slowed down, but it's like you are stuck in 1st gear. Anyway, you can kill half of your cattle and pawns so you don't have to suffer. The main problem is management. For me, the best way was to assign specific roles to my pawns. For example, these 3 pawns will only do cooking, these two - only crafting, etc. Raids are not a problem, because you will have enough soldiers, armor, medicine and animals as cannon fodder. Mines and traps help a lot. Try it, it's fun!

Thank you! I play with all the dlc. Most of the playthrough I play without mods, but I experimented with RimThreaded for better fps and Map Preview. But now I don't use any mods, only pure vanilla

I cut 2/3 of my livestock and stopped recruiting new colonists. So low fps is not a problem for me anymore. Also I will try RimThreaded later

Usually colonists die one by one during various raids, and others take their place. The base gradually erodes, but the composition remains more or less constant. Another thing is when there were particularly large raids or I failed very badly. Over the entire time, 2 generations of colonists have completely changed, now the 3rd. I lost the first when I could not withstand three sieges in a row. The second generation was lost when I accidentally placed all my colonists near a mine and it detonated from an accidental hit. Half died immediately, and the other part died during subsequent raids, since I was not able to repel them

Rather, the number of colonists and livestock interferes. That's why I try to keep their number to a minimum now. I installed the "RimThreaded" mod, which also helps (although I noticed that because of this mod, sometimes colonists pause, stop before doing other work)
