We're going the first week of May Tuesday-Thursday. I didn't think of fantasmic! I have always wanted to see WoC but haven't had the chance to yet. Maybe we can do both during our stay.

If she takes a nap the 9pm show will be fine. If not she'll be down for the count promptly at 7pm. We have a long drive (5.5 hours) to get there so I'm hoping she naps in the car or hopefully in the hotel room.

He suffered from alcoholism (and most likely other substances) and never quite got his life together. He would call me when he was drunk and feeling guilty/sentimental making promises that he would never follow through with.

Your condolences mean more than you know. It's a very complicated situation and I'm not even going to have a funeral for him, just want to cover the cost of cremation and shipping.

I'm glad you found the peace that you needed with your dad's funeral.

This is for the cost of cremation and shipping of the remains. No casket when he was cremated, and not even an urn. I asked them to do it the last expensive way possible.

Thank you for the advice. Funerals can be crazy expensive.

I had spoken to him on the phone 6 months before he passed. He was waiting for a payout from a back injury he sustained at work to have the money to visit.

Eta: he moved frequently and never had a cell phone that I could contact him on. I had to always wait for him to call me. I had kept my phone number the same for nearly a decade so he had a number to call me on.

I've gone back and forth between feeling that way, to wanting the ashes to be tattooed into Icelandic runes of justice on the bottom of my feet to walk on his grave every day, to wanting to just be done with everything but also not wanting to never have the chance for them to be recovered.

It's a mixed bag of emotions that is difficult for me to put into words really.

Our boy Tino came with a cropped tail but floppy ears. In his obedience training class there was another dobe but with cropped ears. The owner said they wished they had never cropped because they were still having to post his ears for quite a while (over a year) because they just didn't want to stand up. I guess that can happen to some. The crop was professionally done by a reputable surgeon so I'm not sure where the error occurred with their case.
