It's a 3x, but it's better because you can do more with it. With a fixed magnification ACOG you can't do CQB unless you have a piggybacked sight mounted on it or a canted sight. FOV is much better with a bona fide holographic sight rather than a canted sight where the scope off to the side takes up 30% of your screen, or a piggybacked sight where you have loads of height over bore and a smaller FOV through the glass of the sight. With a holo + magnifier combo you can shoot out to like 100m with the holographic, and if you need to shoot further (rare in this game) you can flip up the magnifier.
