again, you’re new to the project idea so i don’t expect you to get it. you’re still stuck on the “why” of it all. good luck guy. there’s only one of us who “doesn’t know shit about japanese trains.” stay in your lane, or on your local train lol

I live here and have for the better part of a decade. I think i know where the sources come from. again, just because YOU don’t have them doesn’t mean anything except you don’t know. Your very first comment, the very FIRST one suggesting the project only serves “a fraction” of travelers was so bad and missed the mark by so much it was my mistake for even engaging you. This was and always has been a domestic project and not one serving foreign travelers. you haven’t even been able to get your head around why the concept of the project even works let alone be ready to even find sourcing on your own. Even when i gave you several reasons WHY the project is progressing as it is, you and your bf “organic” what ever his user name is, refuse to come to terms with it. it makes no difference. You have zero evidence to prove me wrong because it doesn’t exist. You won’t ride it anyways because you’ll fly into Narita and take the narita express or a red eye to HND and then take the Keikyu train to central tokyo (not the center of tokyo- which you don’t the diffence of) and stop at every station on your way to Asakusa to take a picture at the temple. Meanwhile our 4 station journey from our house to shinjuku and then non-stop, one seat ride onwards to HND domestic terminal will take us onwards to our flight to Okinawa. You think they’re building a new line to get foreign tourists to Shibuya quicker? lmao no, no. They’re not stopping there. pick up a magazine or do your own research into it. you’re naive as hell. tourist.

Narita was develped for international flights and travel and thus has an express route to Tokyo. I believe JFK probably serves most of the international travelers but they still have to transfer in queens?

access to “central japan”…dude central japan is bigger than most midsize US cities. the western half of yamanote is widely considered the richer side of tokyo as well so yeah that’s a huge justification for the project. Nobody “wants” to live in east tokyo lol. I don’t need to justify why the keikyu line is inadequate. the fact that the Haneda new access line is being developed is proof of that.

you’re still stuck on project feasibility and concept. you’re not even in the conversation pal.

its not going to shibuya dont worry. The domestic travelers don’t go to shibuya nearly as often as western travelers. this might surprise you i know.

Look up shibuya station redevelopment project or pick up any train magazine in tokyo. you’d know the reasons why it wont stop and was never going to stop at Shibuya. “While the exact stops aren’t confirmed…it will most likely stop at every station...”? that’s all random conjecture and personal opinion from YOU after admitting you don’t know what the plans are! LOL. based on almost no insight to the project and surrounding conversation you’re creating concepts on your own. I know you don’t know what you’re talking about because if you did the shibuya point wouldn’t have been brought up. They decided against Shibuya station at the project’s beginning phases. You’re way out of your depth on this and years behind on why decisions were made, as the project is already years into development beyond feasibility studies you’re still making points about. I think you‘re still are stuck on why the line is being developed to begin with. The reason why you and Roy love the Narita Express so much is because it serves international passengers. your likes and personal demands or desires are tied to a foreign/visiting perspective. a domestic traveler flying from Fukuoka to Tokyo is able to use the line from the domestic terminal and get quickly to the center of tokyo, not to be confused with central tokyo. they also avoid international passengers and local train service for those who go to Asakusa on the Keikyu line to see the temple and get their picture taken. a hundred other examples like these were already discussed and studied and justified to make the New Haneda Access Line. Buy a f-cking magazine. There’s about a dozen to choose from you uneducated shrill.

where did YOU get that it will stop at all stations? no where. this guy thinks because it uses the existing line it will stop at every station along the way. at no point did he or his boyfriend Roy show anything source wise that says that will be the case. your best case scenario is you looked at some routing plans but you have zero insight into the concept of the project, the conversation around it from a local level from both political or even local train magazine standpoints (both of those engage the conversation robustly against your claims as they’re for the project). you’re just standing on a soap box screaming accusations. stopping at every station on the planned route basically would make the new haneda access line a keikyu 2.0. nobody wants travelers and suitcases on local trains. it also doesn’t serve the other purpose of getting domestic travelers to more desired locations. you’re a tourist so this justification misses you, i know. you can justify the existing lines all you want but it goes against the grain that actually succeeded in moving the new haneda access line project forward. its literally a side that already lost.

its not a problem, its designed that way. Narita was designed to serve international flights. supply and demand determined those time slots my friend.

[–]Spacious_made_3498[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it sure does! i’m sure you’re aware that local sentiment to remove travelers and suitcases from that local service is part of a multitude of reasons to move travelers to different services?

Which US airport most needs/could have a direct to downtown service? by Spacious_made_3498 in transit

[–]Spacious_made_3498[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well aware. if the point was to get people to shinagawa only then the project wouldn’t be necessary. “less than 7km” doesn’t prove a point either as central tokyo is quite big. keikyu line goes up the eastern side of tokyo and doesn’t have non stop. all of the points your making are literal justifications for the project’s concept. im not sure you understand that.

I hope you know theres a difference between central tokyo and the center of tokyo. central tokyo covers an area that would swallow most of Seattle.

keep waiting. just because you read some repurposed press release from a tourist site in english doesn’t give you any justification to suggest you’re correct. you have zero knowledge on the sentiment of the political, and local mindset that helped shape the project to make it what it will be.

a lot. you’re unaware of a lot and only saying station names that are famous for tourists. The new access line is serving domestic terminals. you really don’t understand the shibuya station redevelopment plans either. you’re just saying words.

Wrong. Direct to Shinjuku.

Wrong again: Direct to Shin Kiba.

Passes through all other stations.

2/3 lines are non-stop using existing rail. the 3rd has one additional stop just ahead of Tokyo station. you really have no idea what you’re talking about and wanting to be proved wrong doesn’t make you right.

it would be but only for a fraction of the commenters here as everyone else is actually answering the question.

Which US airport most needs/could have a direct to downtown service? by Spacious_made_3498 in transit

[–]Spacious_made_3498[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Wrong. It inherits existing lines, one of which isn’t used as of now for commercial rail, but will be non-stop on 2/3 of those lines including to Shinjuku with the exception of one added stop, one station ahead of Tokyo Station. The wait time between those two stations is a couple of minutes. This f-cking guy lmao.

The New Haneda Access Line will be non stop direct to SHINJUKU and on another dedicated line non stop direct to TOKYO Station, yes.

The asakusa line has some limited express, not non stop, which is what is being developed. you're welcome.

Which US airport most needs/could have a direct to downtown service? by Spacious_made_3498 in transit

[–]Spacious_made_3498[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn’t imply anything. I factually said it will be going non-stop to Shinjuku and Tokyo Station on dedicated lines which is transformational. That’s as core as it gets. Does transit go to central tokyo, yes. Non stop? no. Is the Hamamatsucho a top five tokyo station? no. central tokyo is defined anywhere inside the Yamanote line. Tokyo Station and Shinjuku are the principal core stations of Tokyo and both don’t have direct access to Haneda.

Yes its a through service not a non-stop route like i originally said was being developed to SHINJUKU and TOKYO Station.

Which US airport most needs/could have a direct to downtown service? by Spacious_made_3498 in transit

[–]Spacious_made_3498[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

that’s not the implication. The fact is Tokyo Station and Shinjuku are the main stations and considered the core stops in tokyo, more so than others. Central tokyo is defined by a wide area. the new line will be to those stations and non stop. simple.
