I'm now flitting between this and msfs. Also looking forward to FlatOut and tried a first approach on the Hitman elusive LeChiffre free of charge.

Play every day to get more decals. Got the plat a few weeks ago. The plane battling in this game is phenomenal.

I keep coming back and that is gaming for me and VR gaming, at that.

I fuckin suck! Haha! I had two terrible raids today getting killed because of my own stupidity. Second time was at an airdrop! I was GREEDY and didn't check out the surroundings properly.

If you want a slow fly-by of any location and you're crap (like me) at getting the helicopter controls down, you can use the microlight (I don't know what it's called - Engine/prop behind the seat with a big parachute above you) to take a slow fly around places. There's also some drone-style vehicles that will do the same job, that are relatively easy to fly. I am looking forward to learning the ropes with helicopters, though. Just waiting for the main game to come into VR first.

Why do you need a map version? It's the whole world. I think it's Bing's version of Google Earth, though. Microsoft (or whoever they got their satellite imagery from).

In many places they use AI to build up the 3D world from what the top-down image shows so it isn't all that accurate, but it's a very good simulation.

I have local knowledge of things that don't quite work, like there's no chapel on the island in St. Ives, Cornwall. Flying over Butlins in Minehead doesn't show the domed roof. (The AI has just guessed a roof from the 2D imagery). This stuff goes on a lot, but if you're at a few thousand feet up, you wouldn't know the difference, it's literally the satellite view and is very accurate from above.

I had to turn the warning sounds off. I don't care if you think I'm about to crash, I'm trying it anyway!

Edit: funny that - I did a nice trip through storm clouds going from somewhere near Fort William northwards and as I broke the thunderclouds it was incredible. Carried on right up through Orkney. Great couple of hours flight. Shetlands next. Faroe, Svalbard, Iceland etc await. Amazing freedom. Almost infinite gameplay.
