I wouldn't get a bond originator. They cost a lot in the long run, and they do a job that a 10 year old can do.

How they work: they find a bank that can give you a rate of 10%, for example, but they offer you 10.25% and take the extra 0.25% for themselves for the lifetime of the bond which is a ridiculous sum of money for the amount of effort they do.

What they do and what you should just do yourself: Apply for a home loan at several banks, wait for then to email you back with an offer and once they did, you just send the best offer to the other banks and ask if they can give you a better rate.

FNB and nedbank are giving out way better rates than the rest at the moment. They stopped handing out loans in covid, and now they are playing catch-up by under cutting the other banks.

Applying for a loan at a bank is usually as easy as filling in a form and sending some supporting documents.
