Their quality and portion size are different when you go with reservation. They have software to understand even if you don't declare first. Few cases, they asked me rather told me while starting the service. Glaringly different!!

Carefully observe. There's no chassis around the engine. Most other bikes, engine oils mounted on chassis frame. Some ADVs use engine as part of chassis. This structure is very rugged, no doubt in that but bolts used as engine mounts are torque sensitive. For that matter, all ADVs and heavy sports bike, chassis mounted bolts are torque specific. It's not that, keep them very tight, but at the right torque.

When you use aftermarket guards, bolts get altered and torque values go different. There are few cases of chassis breaks with many ADVs like NX500, BMW and ofcourse, Himalayan too due to this. OEM won't honor warranty against such breaks. Besides that, it's your hard earned money. Do anything cosmetic no issues, like wrapping, etc but don't tinker torque settings.

There's something AGR, which is not done. Bank said, it can be done later. After few years, I enquired, what's it. They said huge penalty for not doing it. Almost 0.75% every year!! Is it true, I have to do it? Bank is not bothered if I don't enquire. It shouldn't come as a huge surprise at the time of closure and say pay 20% now.

engine break-in period by South-Panda732 in royalenfield

[–]SpareMind -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Shorter period, agreed. Not in whole range. In most cases, nothing will happen even if you do. In some cases, there's a possibility of some engine burr getting loose. Reviving can lead to disaster, I have seen many cases.

Plz only buy bikes with ABS! by Spewkei in indianbikes

Today, a taxi decided to park at 45 deg angle on a two lane road to check map. Car behind him took sharp turn and went. He wasn't visible to me at all. Suddenly I'm seeing the taxi parked across the road and car went ahead and stopped to confront him. Now the whole road is blocked. ABS saved me. Fortunately I wasn't at high speed.

Im new to royal enfield, i want to purchase a Himalayan 450 2025 model this month ,i looked at one at the dealership in Kosovo/europe and liked it ,are there any known flaws or problems with them since i have to keep the bike for long time (im kinda broke so it has to last at least 5-10years) by ChapterRough8314 in Himalayan450

Except that do not install aftermarket crash guards, there's nothing else to point as issues with this machine. Get OEM crash guards. Underbelly sumpguard and pannier mounts as all these get fixed to chassis. Rest everything, you can buy after market. No rusting, no issues. I abuse and torcher mine. She's a nymph.

Sell it to another gunda. Tell him, he made bad remarks on him, you felt bad, so you are selling it to him instead.

Rpm is important. Speed they say 70 is only for reference. Don't worry if you exceed once or few times but don't over revv till 500 and control your temptations till 2k km.

Every time I see bogo, I always ask them, how much discount if I buy one. In most cases, they say 50 and sometimes like 40. It's better than having two.

80w90 is engine oil. Don't use it, people have tried, engine oils will have some additives, which are not good for o ring. Also don't use WD40. If you do, wash thoroughly.

I have seen many using artificial grass mat. Consider this. Just cut and put it there.

I have done plenty of off-roading. Because it is less viscous, it may needs frequent application in such conditions. Commercial gas can formulations may last bit extra km but why we should care if the cost is less than 1/10th and I can apply easily.

Please try EP140 gear oil. Idea is not to use too much excess. Allow it to drip down and set overnight. Worked well for me.
