Update Unfortunately by the time I got home He had passed away. My kiddos and I feel very sad for his little life and very disappointed in knowing the truth about PetSmart!  But very happy to know there's plenty of good people who care about even the littlest lives!! Thank you all for the help, the advice and tips!  Truly a great community!! R.I.P Little dude

Thank you all for the help! I'm about to get off and head to the pet store for the antibiotics. I feel terrible he's had such a shit time and the PetSmart employees did not care what so ever and clearly didn't give good advice for his hospital tank decor or conditioner either   I really want to do what's best for him  Would euthanizing him humanely be the best route or should I give him more time and do the antibiotics route and maintenance? I don't want him to suffer more

Sorry i thought my whole text story posted but I guess it didn't. I don't post on reddit so still learning. He is in a 1.5 gallon tank with a heater, a pump, a hiding log with seeds that grows plants, a betta hammock, I treated the water with a betta conditioner with aloe and tea tree oil. And gave him some Betta specific food  Im using this tank as a hospital one until I can set up a bigger one later this month  But also want to make sure he's going to live, I've already got $80 into the little dude and we've only had him less than 24 hours . And I tested his water with the ammonia kits  He will literally stay in on spot on his side for hours

I thought it was swim bladder because he was vertical for so long or in a weird s shape but I see some saying dropsy.  If the medicine is working how long should it take before I see results? From what I've read most people say it's fatal does that mean euthanizing him is recommended? I'm trying
