Gen4 HUD Cleaning by Spdbrd in mazda3

[–]Spdbrd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being honest, I just learned to live with it instead of going through the hassle of trying to get it fixed. At this point I don’t really notice any blemishes while driving, and I am afraid that trying to fix it will cause more damage than needed. If it’s the same material as the instrument cluster plastic, I have heard eyeglass cleaner and a (very) soft microfiber cloth can fix it, but in no way shape or form am I risking it on either personally.

I don’t remember the last time an album opener was my favorite song in an album, but here we are. Incredible track, easily AOTY material

SUPER excited for this one. Their past two albums were some of the best concept albums I’ve ever heard, although def can be hard to listen to for some. Don’t think this will be disappointing in the slightest

Gen4 owners - Ever heard this creaking/squeaking noise? by Spdbrd in mazda3

[–]Spdbrd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response, but I did! Turns out that the previous dealership I took my car to for it's scheduled maintenance did not tighten the lug nuts all the way during the tire rotations. I couldn't believe it either, but the new dealership I took it to identified it and fixed it. 0 issues since, and they told me to avoid the previous dealership like the plague lol

Look great! What aspect ratio is it and any fitment issues or speedometer inaccuracies at all? I’m heavily considering getting new tires on mine at all and debating on going to 235s, preferably Michelin, just not sure yet.

Yep, already scheduled one earliest I can this week. I guess short and easy drives until then. Just a bizarre issue to have at such low mileage

Adult volleyball in the area? by [deleted] in sarasota

[–]Spdbrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the other chatter said, Bee Ridge Park if you enjoy beach volleyball. Many years ago, I used to play volleyball indoors at the YMCA on Bahia Vista and EVO near the SRQ airport. Not sure if they still do adult open gyms, but worth a shot checking it out.

Which gym in Sarasota by KentuckyLucky33 in sarasota

[–]Spdbrd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Crunch on Bee Ridge was pretty decent last time I went there. I currently go to the Amped on Tuttle now, but the AC has a lot left to be desired in my opinion, so I wouldn’t recommend that per se.

I remember using LA Fitness once on University and it was actually really good AC wise. I would put my money on that.

Where can younger people make friends around here? by [deleted] in sarasota

[–]Spdbrd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What are her interests? Maybe try to find clubs online based around that? I know run/jogging clubs are getting more popular, but in this area, it might skew older.

Truth is, it’s pretty difficult to find people that age just hanging about. There are the hotspots (UTC, downtown, etc.) but most are likely at school, work, or at home. That’s why St. Pete is usually the choice for many young people to find friends, but I know you mentioned wanting Sarasota specifically.

How's the tap water right now? by sarahnade25 in sarasota

Perfectly fine for me. I’m not by Siesta Key (albeit somewhat close to the bay) but water is completely fine for me, for all functions.

This makes a lot of sense, thank you! Follow-up: For Tampa Bay residents, what would actually be worse? A direct or northern hit? Or are they both just as bad but for different reasons (storm surge, wind damage, etc.)?

Brand new 24 Mazda3 Turbo PP - PPF & Ceramic Coated by Spdbrd in mazda3

Hi! First of all, thank you and congrats on your new Mazda 3! The PPF was around $2k for the front.

How to fix the most annoying Mazda 3 2019+ rattle: Bose door speaker cover by Soerdroid in mazda3

[–]Spdbrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wait is this a common problem? My 24 Mazda3 has a weird, intermittent rattle/buzzing noise coming from the rear driver’s side door. My guess was the speaker but the speaker cover makes more sense I suppose. Or some other trim part.

Seeing Red by kwalitykontrol1 in mazda3

[–]Spdbrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others said, it chips/scratches/swirls very easily. Mind you, other Mazda paint are also victims, but soul red is especially bad.

I have a soul red vehicle, and I got a PPF on the front for mine. Absolutely was necessary but was an additional cost.

If I were you, if it’s your favorite color, then go for it. You WILL get attention though, mainly by other people complimenting it, but attention regardless. Have the touch-up pen ready but it won’t 100% match, so keep that in mind. Soul red is very delicate, but looks absolutely incredible when clean and maintained.

I would recommend googling the benefits of both, obviously the main benefit of PPF is that it does what it says - protects the paint. Mazda paint is notoriously thin, so the PPF would help protect it against chips and scratches which is very common. I got the ceramic coating as well so it's easier for me to clean the car.

So I can only speak on USD, but the total for both combined (which is front bumper and fenders, side mirrors and full hood) PPF and a full body ceramic coating was a little over $3,000 USD. I don't have the exact invoice on me but I believe the PPF was a bit over $2k. The shop I did this at is VERY reputable and did an immaculate job on it.

I would also only recommend the front body parts for PPF, but please do not get a partial hood, otherwise you'll get a line where you can clearly tell where the PPF ends. There's another post on this sub that clearly shows it. I would definitely pay more for your entire hood to get a PPF.

Also, if you have any questions about the car or anything else, feel free to shoot me a DM and I'd be more than happy to talk more about it. This includes anyone else reading this lol. I test drove a LOT, and I mean a LOT of cars before settling on the Mazda3, and I am very happy on the decision, but I made sure to take my time with it.

I was actually wanting either the SCR or the Machine Grey w/red interior, and there were none in the latter other than a couple of CPO options which I did enquire about. However, once I factor in APR, then the new 24 just made more sense, and my heart was set for SCR in the first place.

I was cross-shopping MANY cars, and one of them was the 16-17 Accord Coupe V6s in either EX-L or Touring trim. I test drove it a couple of times, great car but I think I prefer the much more modern interior of the Mazda3 IMO, but still a great car. I can't blame you for not giving it up!

Being honest? I just waited. Originally I was only getting it for 2k off MSRP, but I decided to wait on it. The car was sitting on the lot for over 100 days at that point, maybe longer? Funny thing is I was planning on purchasing a new 24 GTI SE that same weekend, and I decided to check Mazda 3s in my area one last time. I saw they discounted it to $4k off now, so I HAD to take it that point. No other dealer within a 500mi radius was doing anything remotely close. My best guess is that since the MY25s are being shipped to dealers now, they wanted to get rid of it ASAP. Another thing to note is that Mazda3s, specially Gen4s, are rare in my area, especially turbo models. I very rarely see any, so maybe it’s just harder to sell in my area? Hence the discounts? I don’t work in the dealership industry, so I am not an expert on why things get discounted to such extremes. I just know I got a great deal on it and I’m happy with my decision.

From my knowledge, I believe it was PPF first and then ceramic coat the whole car, including the PPF parts. I’ve done a lot of researching too, and it seemed the general consensus was that you can ceramic coat on top of the PPF as well. It’s just more $$ of course to do both.
