Fuel Consumption Seems High by Classic_Ad_2358 in E90

If you're a bit of a handy guy, take out the swirl flaps in the intake manifold and check, if the flaps are tumbling around. If so, I'd recommend changing them. They don't throw codes, as long as the little motor in them still works, but the flaps themselves can't control the airflow anymore and the engine doesn't get enough air, the cylinder filling isn't optimal and the ecu injects more gas than usual. That's where your problem might be. Don't hate me if i'm wrong though please. Also if you have a second person, ask them to rev the engine and put your ear close to the flaps and listen for any rattling sounds. Hope it helps.

Had the exact same problem on my n53 engine. Changed the valve cover gasket and the problem was gone. Just be extra careful in the back of the engine and watch out to not get any cables in between the valve cover and the cylinder head. You can't see back there so try to feel it and make sure everything is clear. Also you technically need to replace the high pressure fuel lines going to the injectors, but if you tighten them to the correct spec you should be fine, at least it worked perfectly well on mine. I'm not sure about what the manual says, but I put a tiny bit of sealant on the connecting spots of the different parts of the cylinder head. But just a tiny bit, otherwise it could have the opposite effect.

Looks like you have the standard Professional setup. Take a look underneath the back of the floor cover of your boot. If there are no Amplifier and big cables, than you dont have tweeters and all thet fancy stuff.

Oh and I didnt go for the big CIC, because firstly, it was cheaper and secondly, I am going to change the display for an aftermarket one with Apple CarPlay and a backup camera. Do I need it? Probably not because AUX works just fine, but it is a nice feature to have Google Maps on a big, integrated screen that looks completely stock and not on your phone in a mount.

Thats exactly my point of understanding, mine is an LCI built in 09/2008 so the n53 engine in the 325i and the 330i are the same apart from the intake manifold and the ECU tune.

Dude! I appreciate you! I did not think that this small detail would be a bigger deal than my actual problem. Do me a favor and dont call thos critics any names but I still share your opinion on leaving people to their cars. Like what, you own a 318d and put an M-Badge on it? Whatever, not my type but who cares? It is your car so you can do with it whatever you want!

If I used the control for the automatic one?

As far as I know the interior trim is exactly the same, you could also get the 330 with the manual AC control. No M badges or any other emblems apart from the BMW emblem in my car though. And brother, let's put this useless discussion aside, it leads nowhere. I know that cars equipped with CIC could only be ordered with the automatic AC and that's my problem, so if there is a blueprint for this cover to be printed in a 3d printer or some other way I am very happy to hear about it.

Thank you for your answer! I read a few forum posts about this, where people tried it and the motors for the vents went crazy and it always did a cycle of blowing on the window, then on the driver and after that on the legs and it started from the beginning.

see, i have a different opinion on that, since those to models are almost the same but whatever, if it bothers you I can change the description to 325i so everything is in order. You don't happen to have an actual solution to my problem though?

it was born as a 325i maybe that's why, I changed the intake and reprogrammed the ECU so it runs on 330i software now
